Why does the US support Israel?
Do conservative Christians truly believe Jewish occupation of Israeli is necessary for the second coming of Christ?
Our government gives billions of dollars each year to a country which uses our money and weapons to kill women and children. Claiming its "their" land? Why because of their race and/or religion?
I'll support Israel if it abandons its "right of return" policy. Allow the families expelled during all Israelis wars to return to their homes. Grant all races and religions full membership in government.

Obviously, NickO, you are an ignorant mis-educated liberal, because you don't understand history at all ( then again, you are probably a recipient of a public education, a la liberal "educational theology", and I "should" take pity on you....Nah!). So, either way, let me explain...
- The Arabs sided with Hitler
- After WWII, two countries were to be created equally, based on a Western Allies / UN mandate to give both Palestinians and Jews their own countries. They partitioned the land, and each would have their part ( by the way, many countries in this area were formed at the same time - Iran, Iraq, etc all had their territory lines drawn up by the British/Allies to be "created" after the war - they didn't EXIST in that form until then ). The Jews accepted this, the Arabs rejected it. The negotiations broke down, the Brits pulled out, and a land war began - Israel was born in the crucible of that war, and they took more land than what was ORIGINALLY proscribed ( the biggest complaint by Arabs to this day ), and were the winners...and raised their own flag. They DID treat the Palestinian citizens brutally ( some hard-line groups of Jews, NOT all Jews ) in throwing the Palestinians off the land then. But then again, you had 40,000,000 Arabs going after 650,000 Jews...and the Jews fought back and won. And the Arabs sided with Hitler - get it? GET IT? War reparations...yet everyone thinks the Jews are rich, and are interlopers, yada, yada...Jews were living around Jerusalum CONTINUOUSLY for centuries, they just weren't a big people in that area anymore....the German and Polish influx was just an ADDITION..it wasn't like there were NO Jews in that area until the Evil Allies TOOK Arab land to create Israel. No, but that's what ignorant, uneducated people like you think today, NickO. Go do some Internet research of your OWN....if you're intelligent enough!
- Jews kill to defend, not offensive fighting. Again, anyone Arab gets a free pass for lobbing a bomb or missile into Israel, kill a few Jewish kids or women, ho-hum...yet let the Jews return fire, and there's some "collateral damage", the Liberals Newsies fall all OVER themselves to get the wailing Moms and Children splashed all OVER the news...you don't see that with Jewish children or women, do you? NEVER see them highlighted on the news.
- Palestinians DID NOT own all the land around Jeruseleum, while they may have lived ON it, it wasn't THEIRS. Not some of it, anyway. They were as displaced as the Jews were, by other Arabs...no one says anything about THAT. Nope. Yet, THEY are the ones held up as "victims"...by their own KIND? Of COURSE....they're not Jews. But you don't see any countries around sending money to the Palestinians, do you? Nope. Not a one. All the other countries are interested in is making them "victims" for the press, they could care LESS if they lived or died, personally. Otherwise, they'd take care of them.
So, here's a question for you - do you know WHY Syria is so interested in controlling Palestine? Hmm? Do you? Palestine was created off of Syria after the war, to give some war chief his own territory...that didn't sit well with the rulers / chiefs of the lands now known as Syria. Again, these countries were ALL drawn up after the war, they were just nomads and farmers and powerful chieftains from a more or less feudal society with amorphous land areas, no concrete lines drawn on a map. All this came about AFTER WWII. Again, bet you know NONE of this. Anyway, so from then on, Syria wanted that land back. And THEY pushed many Palestinians away from it as well. See the problem? Yet, it's all ISRAEL's fault, isn't it? Because THEY are in the way. Please....the Arabs have been fighting for many centuries amongst themselves, and will continue to do so, regardless of Western Christian civilization intervening and interfering. Until they get off their "eye-4-n-eye" belief, absolutely NOTHING will change there. N-O-T-H-I-N-G. So quit your whining about the Jews, and get real. The Jews are the only ones who's entire PEOPLE are prosperous, THAT is the REAL reason people in the region hate them...the Jews work together, help themselves....the Arabs fight each other, backstab, etc. and have nothing, because they won't work TOGETHER, as a TEAM...but, again, it's all Israel's fault. They're devisive.
Well, there's today's history lesson, best as I remember it from MY research and reading. It may have flaws, so I won't claim it's 100% accurate ( more than your view, though, NickO-less). If you can refute it, point to some FACTS somewhere....

You need a little more History.
Israel exists as a result of the partitioning of British Occupied Palestine in '48. Prior to that, it was occupied by various nations for over two thousand years, starting about seven centuries before the birth of Mohammed. The last time it was a free and independent nation before 1948 it was called Judea. Palestine is a name coined by the Romans during their occupation because it irritated the Jews.
When the land was partitioned, it was partitioned into more than just Palestine and Israel. Lebanon was also created, for example. When the "palestinians" claim ALL of what was "palestine" before 1948, they will have more credibility, but to only want to claim what was given the Jews is too transparent for the rest of the world to pay any attention to. You can't legitimize Lebanon without legitimizing Israel, both were created simultaneously.
You also forget that the Palestinians, along with other neighbors of Israel, started a war, a war which they lost badly. Palestine hasn't made peace yet, and that's why they are still occupied. All you have to do is admit what the rest of the world already knows, and peace and independence begin. As long as Palestine is founded on the goal of destroying Israel, it would make no sense for them to allow Palestine to develop the ability to fulfil that goal.
As far as blaming Israel, you should ask yourself why Occupied Palestine was divided in the first place. If the only problem was the British occupiers, then they only needed to leave to solve it, but the partition suggests that there were already ethnic tensions.
The bottom line is that the creation of Israel didn't start the problem between Israelis and Palestinians. The British intended it to be the solution. Obviously it didn't work, but then again, neither did your war against Israel. Perhaps it is time to consider a new solution, something really bold and radical.
Try making peace with them. See how that works out. You can always go back to blowing yourselves up if it doesn't.

The US supports Israel because the United States cannot back away from it's greatest ally in the Middle East. Halting support for a country smaller than the size of New Jersey that many people want to see destroyed is a cowardly move, because even though the Israelis can defend themselves-to an extent, the US has been backing Israel since the day they started, so turning back now would be a poor choice.

Israel was their land for centuries, before the various conquerors from Persia, Rome, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, et al took over their country, causing a dispersal of the Israelites.
Through all of this, there still were many Israelites living in Israel.
By treaty, Israel was re-created after WWI; and made a State after WWII, in 1948.
Israel has fought hard for their land, despite the constant terrorist attacks perpetrated by their neighbors.
America supports Israel because it is a Democracy, and is one of America's most trusted Ally.
Israel does not kill women and children wantonly; the terrorists do.
Since you are anti-Israel, does this mean that you support the terrorists?

Allot goes into why we support Israel and religion is part but not all. Maybe you forgotten WWII but they were genocides for there race and religion. Actually our government gives more to other countries then Israel and I believe we do not send any money to them they are self sufficient. As far as killing women and children, who actually starts the battles? Hamas from within Palestine. Which you are not reporting or stating how those died.
History will show you why it is their Land.... If that doesn't maybe try reading the bible Revelations..... It will explain Israel will get all its land back before his return but you seem to be non-religious or Muslim so doubt you would read it.

a million. We help Israel by using fact they are suitable and it extremely is the ethical concern to do. 2. We help Israel by using fact we get great earnings from doing so. 3. Bin ladin did no longer attack us for Israel. in actuality, bin ladin became our best chum on an identical time as we supported Israel. Bin ladin attacked us b/c we placed troops in Saudi Arabia after Iraq invaded Kuwait. Bin ladin advised us that having "infidel troops" interior the comparable state as Mecca became an insult and we withdraw or face warfare with him. We did no longer withdraw and quite Saudis declared him accountable of treason for questioning their authority. we've been struggling with ever considering the fact that. Moslems do no longer hate us for Israel. Moslems hate us for taking their oil interior the 1930's and then toppling their govts while they complained. and that they hate us now b/c of ways we reacted to 911.

The imperial policy of the United States requires a policeman in the region to serve US interests there...they have found Israel ready to fulfill that role

Because we have looked at the last chapter of the bible and know Israel wins and any nation that says one nation under God will be with them.

one because they are the only western style democracy in the middle east, two, because a good portion of their population are Americans with relatives here in the states.
