1960s: Avenue Road hotel, cocktail lounge Summerhill?

Can anyone tell me the name of a hotel on the east side of Avenue Rd in the block north of Bloor? Don't know when it opened but it was definitely there through most of the 1960s.

And a very exotic cocktail lounge/restaurant located near Summerhill subway station, East Asian with palm trees & bridges ... maybe "Ports of Call"?

Update:

Forget the Ports of Call (I'm sure that's what it was called). Could I have a useful answer about the hotel? It was across Avenue Road and north a block from the Park Plaza.

Update 2:

Thanks, David H, nice to know what happened to the Ports. But I really need the name of the hotel on Avenue Rd. It seems to me it came and went rather quickly, yellow brick structure, not too large.

I am a former chef and worked at the Ports or Ports of Call (with my friend Peter Dover)and "Yes", it was near the Summerhill Subway, but that the Yonge line just north of the old CP rail station it is a LCBO outlet and the old Ports property is a Condo complex.

The bar or lounge you speaking of was at the east corner of Prince Arthur and Bloor, and was called the "Palms", as you said, I apprenticed with a guy who worked at the Park Plaza in the 70's and walk by it even after it closed, the buliding is gone and was absorbed into the new complex were Whole Foods and the Jagaur dealership is.

The other hotel there is the Four Seasons, an there is a new hotel in the old Hazelton Lanes complex.

If it was further up towards Davenport Rd then your talking about the old Venture Inn, it was a chain absorbed by the Choice Hotels comapny, I stayed a few years back in the building it is now a Howard Johnsons.

I seen those pics already. I think Bill looks super sexy! But Tom I miss his old dreads. But maybe I will start liking them more like I did with Bill. But I will love Tokio Hotel no matter what!

In New York, we don't say ''Ports of call''. We say ''Ports''. And that is in Avenue road.
