Are The Owners And Union This Stupid?

Sounds like this week the owners will vote to opt out of the current CBA with the NFLPA. That means they're talking by 2011 a lockout by the owners on the players.

Labor issues in MLB, NBA, the NHL made the NFL King of the mountain since the mid-90s. The owners and players need to especially look at what MLB lost after the '94 strike, plus the NHL is forever relegated to minor sport status in the U.S. after the 2004-05 lockout (of which it lost me as a fan).

Would they actually consider a lockout with all the money both sides have made. Not to mention revenue sharing which allows the Green Bays to compete with the richer teams. The fans are less willing these days to put up with labor shortages, they could seriously lose a large amount of their fan base.

Is this not a big deal or something the league needs to avoid. 2011 will be here before we know it.

A lockout would be the worst thing that could happen to the NFL. Except for maybe Congress investigating steroids in football. Let's hope Arlen Specter gets busy with something important. The answer to your question is yes, they obviously are that stupid.

All we can do is hope they get a new one in place before the '11 season so they don't ruin my life.....

Historicall (if each person nonetheless bothers to study historic previous) unions did not even 'resemble' what they have advanced into immediately! even if, no matter if die tricky professional union human beings opt for to admit it or no longer, the be conscious "grasping" is oftentimes stated no longer too far down the sentence with the be conscious "union". it truly is merely authentic. One small party out of many...in the time of WW2 even as protection production facility workers chosen to strike even as our men lives relied on the very cloth produced contained in the factories is a classic party. Pay improve over lives. heavily??...you could study on your historic expenses of union activity. hardly ever did safe practices, or circumstances override the customary mantra for 'more desirable funds'. sturdy grief, Twinkies is a present day classic party of union stupidity. a employer who has to pay a lot less or no jobs in any respect. So..."we will teach them...we will lose our jobs". and they did. 18,000 of them. Now enable me ask you, if you're an corporation someplace and an ex Twinkie striker who merely helped bankrupt a nationwide employer consists of your position inquiring for artwork..are you heavily gonna employ that individual???? Greed's advantageous. merely understand, it comes back and bites you contained in the butt. it truly is likely why the bible spent a sturdy deal of time speaking about the evil of it.

Hopefully they would not do something so foolish and have a lockout. The NFL is a Billion dollar business and there is no reason for this except greed.

I don't think its a question of stupidity as much as it is greed. By both sides.
