Musicians - Can anyone recomend me a good place to record an EP?

We are looking to get an EP done that is of a high enough quality for radio airplay, but won;t cost the earth as only myself is in full-time work out of the band. Any recomendations pls?

Update:

Ooops, appologies - In the UK between Sheffield and Nottingham. Will consider most UK based places.

Well you can do this yourselves if you have some good software like cu base some good mikes and a mixer but is one hell of a faff. The Rock Factory in York is very reasonable and friendly. If you have rehearsed and know what your at shouldn't cost more than a hundred. Try to get things done in one or two takes. Again if you have cu base or similar you can do the post production you selves. If you need a guitar/keyboard/bass player I am available and would be only too happy to help. Regards Philip

Contact all your local studios and ask about price. Also ask for a listen to things they have recorded there. Make sure the band is well rehearsed - practising in the studio really runs the cost up! So know your set. Get all the arguments over before you go to the studio! Good Luck.
