It is perfectly normal for first time pregnant women not to show very much during the first few months of pregnancy. I would anticipate seeing her baby bump anywhere from 18-24 weeks. All women carry differently, so try not to compare her to other 14, 15, 16, etc. week pregnant women you see.
As long as she is eating a healthy diet, and her OBGYN says everything looks good, then there is no need to worry.
Consider yourself lucky that she is saving you money by still wearing her pre-pregnancy clothes!
Congratulations!

Every women is different. My best friend and I were a few weeks apart and she started showing a lot earlier than I did. I didn't start showing until about 20 weeks. Hope this helps.

you really shouldnt get a 3d ultrasound at 17 weeks because its too early. I went to get a normal ultrasound at 18 weeks and they couldnt tellm e the sex. They made me come back at 20 weeks for a sure answer. i called a 3d ultrasound place and they only do them between 26 and 32 weeks because any earlier then that the baby is not all developed and they dont want the mother worrying. Im scheduled for one May 31st and i will be 33 weeks by then. A week late but they are stillg oing to do it.

Hey, i didnt even know with my second child that i was pregnant until 18 1/2 weeks, and im 5foot 7, and about 120lbs. It may just be that the baby is situated at the back of your lady's womb, it happens. Wait until shes about 30 weeks, she will feel like a beach ball, i did.

Some women take a while to show, especially if it's her first pregnancy. I'm 14 weeks and I'm not showing at all. Give it a little time! Congrats by the way!!

Every woman shows at a different time. I didn't show until 24 weeks. Unless they are really thin, most women won't show at 14 or 15 weeks, unless they are just really bloated.

If this is her first pregnancy, her stomach muscles are still pretty tight--she won't start to really show until she is further along. I am 5 foot 4, and I didn't show until I was around 7 months along with my first pregnancy. This one I started to show around five because my belly muscles were already "baby friendly" :p
Don't worry, I am sure nothing is wrong at all :) Good luck!!

oh gosh dont worry about it, I wished I was showing then too! but I didnt show til I was 7 (((32 weeks!! in the end I counted months back ward from 40 weeks LOL)) months! a lot of people didnt even know I was pregnant at all.... but I am a little taller, 5'6 and normally 142 lb. give it some time! It will surprise you one morning when all of a sudden she just pops out !!! :)

Every woman is different, and I really hope you're not getting on her case about not showing. Im pregnant with my 4th and I didn't show until I was 21 weeks. If she was small to begin with and skinny, she wouldn't really show until later on. 17 weeks is still fine for NOT showing yet. Be supportive.

I'm 19 weeks and haven't even gained weight let alone started to look pregnant. She will soon, don't worry about it. Some women just carry differently.
