Why can't people type the whole word instead of doing letter minimization?

Why do some people on YA insist on not typing all of the letters to a word? For example, instead of "you're" it's "ur".

it isn't texting where every little second counts while you're driving and texting!?

You're on the internet not driving along the freeway at 85...take time to type instead of text. PLEASE?

You can't expect people to type out the whole word. Come on! People are lazy like that. And now that there are so many acronyms that people use, it's just easier to minimize everything you're typing.

Some are just in the habit. Like I myself play an online game called w.o.w where you do type alot and you use alot of abbreviations. I try when I am on YA not to do that but I do slip up from time to time. Its not like I am writing a paper. You still understand people when they do type that way so why does it really matter?

well people started it so that they can be "cool" like heyyy look i can type half a word and create a new spelling for it!! and they got all excited lol... and then after a while of doing it, it became habbit. i sometimes type like that when im trying to get my point across quickly, but for the most part, i try to type normal since when i eventually get a job in the real world, all those abbreviations wont be sufficient.

It's a lot quicker for some people.... although I just find it annoying and find that it takes me longer to abbreviate the word than type it in full... but that's probably because I can type fast.

I guess for people who still type with two fingers it's a lot quicker.... I don't know. Personal preference I guess... to the annoyance of others.

I understand what you're going at. I think whats happened is we haven't taken it as quick talk now, its become slang, and normal. I think it is bad if kids use it to much because they might begin to spell easy words like "you" into "u". It is like the language of the internet, but it is annoying.

One of my pet peeves! It drags down the quality of writing on the entire world wide web, lol. (Oops, sorry about the lol.)

Why do they do it? They are too used to it and I am certain many have now lost the ability to spell properly anyway.

i think of that individuals Do It because of the fact it supplies extra Emphasis To Their question And It strikes extra interest, Its No Fad Or teen element Its basically human beings wanting interest And attempting to Get Their question observed.

  • tag you're it! I have know idea what that was......but I guess It is because we are all just lazy. That's my excuse! by the way, it's really hard for me to type like this! I am sooooo used to text talk. lol! aaaahhh thats btr! ; D
