Making a square corner round on adapter end for 125v 7A?
I have a printer that requires a 125V 7A double barrel / figure 8 / infinity sign shape.
When I received the printer, it did not come with the power supply.
Would it be possible to rig a 125V 7A end where one side is round and the other side is square by somehow cutting off the corners of the squarish side with a utility blade or metal file? There are only two corners. What would be the best way to do it and would it be possible? I believe these are common power supplies for boom boxes.
Any help or advice (besides purchasing a new one) would be appreciated.
fibbs 99,
How about any issues with polarity?

Use patience and an exact-o knife and this should be fairly easy. This type of cord is common for not only boom boxes, but also home cd players and dvd players.
Just don't leave bare metal exposed on the end where it could be a safety hazard.

The idea is possible but they may or may not be the same. The square side is a fool proof solution so that users won't reverse polarities.
If it's a low voltage, I will advise you to try but 125V is high enough to hurt you.

Phew, I don't know, some of those were pretty bad! lol A few were funny though so a star for effort. Your one-liners were WAY better!

Your better off buying a power cord.

This will insure that you don't nick the wires/connectors and create a fire hazard for yourself.
