5 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoSubtituting Power Adapter/Supply - Range?
I have a transceiver that requires an adapter with the following specs:
INPUT: 115VAC 60Hz 30W
OUTPUT: 12VAC 1.25A
If I look around the house to find an adapter that might work, which numbers are the most important in terms of accuracy? Which numbers to I have a bit of give for? How much give and which way (higher or lower)?
Please be thorough, I know little to nothing about electricity. I don't want to ruin the transceiver. But I know it's totally possible and don't want to have to purchase one at Radio Shack.
Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersOther - Electronics1 decade agoSubstituting a Power Adapter?
I'm looking at purchasing an old ethernet transceiver but it does not come with the power supply. The current owner says they used a 12V adapter from radio shack.
The company site says this on their Data Sheet:
Power Supply: 115 Vac at 30 watts
60Hz (220 V available)
Wouldn't I need a power supply that said 115V which is way more than 12 Volts?
3 AnswersOther - Electronics1 decade agoMaking a square corner round on adapter end for 125v 7A?
I have a printer that requires a 125V 7A double barrel / figure 8 / infinity sign shape.
When I received the printer, it did not come with the power supply.
Would it be possible to rig a 125V 7A end where one side is round and the other side is square by somehow cutting off the corners of the squarish side with a utility blade or metal file? There are only two corners. What would be the best way to do it and would it be possible? I believe these are common power supplies for boom boxes.
Any help or advice (besides purchasing a new one) would be appreciated.
4 AnswersOther - Electronics1 decade agoShed Floor and Plywood Thickness?
I know 3/4 inch treated plywood is the norm for the floor of a shed.
If I have access to 1/2 inch treated plywood, what are the pros and cons of doubling up on the 1/2 inch plywood to go for a thickness of 1 inch?

Translate to English Please?
1) I am NOT looking for alternative recipes so don't waste your time!
2) I do NOT want to use any automatic computer translation service. They are not good enough yet.
3) I'll wait for a human who can do it.
Just need someone to translate this one word for word into English:
2 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoCan you read Chinese? If yes then... recipe please...?
Looking for a recipe for Macau Almond Cookies.
Please READ details before responding:
I am wanting recipes that are found online thru blogs, periodicals, forums, etc. that are originally in Chinese (or other Asian language). Then you need to translate the recipe word for word in English. Please post at least two recipes in English for the Macau Almond Cookies and a list of all the URLs that you found that contain the a recipe for these.
The more information you can provide the better. I am not looking for recipes that originated in English.
You'll be awarded 10 points.

Please READ what I need.
I am posting this again because the first time I got everything BUT what I was looking for.
1) I do not want anything not coming directly from the link provided.
2) I do not want suggestions to use an automatic babel translator. They are not good enough for what I need.
3) What I DO need is for someone who can read the text to literally translate word for word what is on the page when you click on the link.
10 points will be awarded to the person who translates everything, not just the title.

2 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoNeighbors dogs breaking fence, what to do?
Friend has one yr old fixed female looks like a Weimaraner.
She's a homeowner with an inground pool. Fence resembles http://uncorked.org/medley/archives/oldfence2.jpg.
Her neighbor has 3 labs. 2 large, muscular golden labs. 1 young black lab instigates exploration into friends yard by breaking thru the old fence by loosening the boards, breaking holes, etc.
Black dog has been found in the pool before & had to be retrieved by friend who returned them safely numerous times to an ungrateful neighbor. Neighbor called the subdivision office who came out while friend was at work & gave notice she had to fix the fence but the fence is a shared fence (no survey done yet for proof). No response to her messages.
The dogs came over yet again and this time she wanted them off her property & did not return them to neighbors backyard. Neighbor called police on friend but they couldn't do anything. Dogs were found. Neighbor takes no responsibility, blames friend.
What to do? Options? Rights?
