I had my blood pressure taken today...?
... and it was 129 / 67 (before I did any exercise)
I'm a 25 year old lad, an ex smoker (for a few years), I do a lot of excercise, eat my fruit and veg and have no known health problems. My job is stressful but hasn't been bad lately...
... the gym monkey who did it didn't seem to know anything except that it wasnt a cause for concern, but is it good? Should I be trying to lower it?

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

A one off reading doesn't mean much. If this was an average over time it may of more concern. If you are really a caffeine fiend this won't help the BP. Back-round stress levels are not helpful either. Well done with the smoking though, you've lowered your risk of developing a whole host of bad things.
I think what is more worrying is that someone with a complete lack of knowledge is taking BP readings. I mean, what use is this if they don't recognise what it means and know what they are looking for. Stick to you practice nurse to check you out at regular well man clinics.

No, it is normal for your age and if you tried to lower it then you may be risking yourself suffering from dizzy spells. If you want to do something to help then try to cut out salt out of your diet, it puts your blood pressure up.
Well done on your blood pressure score, you have no idea how many people are walking around with dangerously high blood pressure!
Ignore those who say it is abnormal. IT IS NORMAL. Look at the link.

FACT! For your age, it should be lower. Right now, you are in prehypertension.
