YES I believe everyone who works should pay 50% of their salary to those in the US who do not. This will be good for economy because it will encourage more leisure time as people decide they can afford to quit their jobs. It will also make jobs more plentiful as more people leave the workforce meaning mo.0re jobs available to those who still wish to work.

That is why I am CALLING ON ALL VOTERS TO VOTE DEMOCRATIC SO WE CAN GET THE ABOVE PUT INTO LAW

Ha, ha. Lets explore that further. Since more men are employed than women (many of us are contributing at home by raising healthy families), and men typically take in a higher salary (possibly due to the time women took out of their careers or education to stay home), you could say that on a whole, men already are paying more taxes and since welfare is funded out of the taxes, men (as a whole) are paying more for the lifestyle of the welfare queen than women.

Living single and on welfare is no cake walk, but I know women who have the baby daddy living in the household, contributing TO the household, and they still collect welfare. They either lie about the dad completely and collect or pretend dad doesn't live there and let a huge child support balance accrue against him. I know a guy who works under the table so that his family can collect welfare checks. He owes about 20K in child support for children that he's lived with and supported since birth. They're making welfare money plus his salary and if the state ever garnishes his wage for the child support, it will go back into his household as a child support check. As long as he doesn't get busted for the welfare fraud, all is well. Why wouldn't I turn them in? I don't know...state probably wouldn't do anything useful anyways and I would end up with the hate from it. Point being is that men also benefit from welfare, directly and indirectly. They need to stiffen the penalties for fraud, make fraudsters public (embarrass and social stigma), make collection efforts against deadbeats, and require those who are owed child support to follow up with their claims.

Or those living on welfare could try and get a JOB and learn to pay car payments and insurance and daycare and utilities and medical and dental just like the rest of us. It's hard for ANYONE in the economy right now. If I had assistance and lots of things given to me, my life would be a little easier rather than putting in 50 hrs a week just to make ends meet. Everyone struggles, why should one person get more than another? We're all human and we all have needs. I don't know, I just don't have pity for SOME people onwelfare. Like the ones who can't stop popping out kids. Why should I pay for them when they haven't learned about birth control? So for me, it's not just a no, but a HELL NO!

Umm, no...Why punish all men for what YOUR baby daddy did? That's no different than making all women pay more taxes because YOU chose to have babies. How about if those moms on welfare get jobs and stop relying on the system that me (a woman with my own kid to support) and MY taxes are paying for?

No, they should get out and work and take care of their own children..I say close the legs or go after the fathers and not my husbands tax dollars...And you wouldn't be on welfare if you used birth control...YOU can do without the cable Tv and the cell phones....My husband and I raised our sons, the government certainly did not....

    Ridiculous.

Why should those of us that do not have children pay for those who do?

That would be the same as asking us to go to jail and serve time for a murder someone else committed because he had something else to do.

Single moms can get a job. The father's should be paying their child support.

Maybe they should have thought about the consequences of getting pregnant and the responsibilities of having a child.

that is so right! i strong agree with one of the answers on here that stated woman having more and more kids and we have to pay more taxes to support them. there should be a law passed that if a woman gos over a certain limit with having kids that the welfare stops there! most of these woman lay up and spit out child after child so they can get a food stamp card or whatever and dont have to go out and work so therefore our taxes or whatever is raised and we who dont have kids have to end up paying for theirs that is BS!

are u joking?! why should men have to pay more for these womens irresponsibility. There are things such as birth control and they should have used it if the didnt have a stable relationship. Also what makes you think these women are entitiled to welfare? its their fault they got themselves in that mess so they should deal with it instead of taking tax payers money. that is just ridiculous.

You have hit on a very sensitive subject with me. Grrrrr! I have to pay out 25% of my hard earned money to pay for your welfare check. You are the one who chose to have a child with a man who won't pay his child support and it's up to me to support your needs???

Stop depending on strangers who work hard for their money to support you! Get a job, two jobs if that's what it takes to pay your own bills.

When my old car broke down and I couldn't afford to pay my car insurance, I rode the bus for 3 years (and hated it) until I had saved up enough money to buy another car and worked hard to change my career and get a better paying job. Yes it was hard and I had to do with out a lot, no car, no cable tv, no cell phone. I got off my butt and I did it by myself with out holding out my hand and expecting tax payers to support me.

You chose to make the mistakes that got you in the position you are in now. What makes you think you have the right to expect tax payers to pay for your mistakes. Grow the h*** up, get a job or two, support your self and your children and stop draining the pay checks of all the tax payers.

You want more in life, then work for it like the rest of us do!!!!!
