The Illinois Senate meets for 54 days per year. Does anyone know what Baracka did the other 311 days per year

54 days? That's it? LOL wow were can I get a job like that? Well part of the time he went to Libya w/Rev. Wright. Who knows what else he did. 54 days, and how much was he paid for all of that hard work, especially since he voted "present" so many times.

He did lecture on constitutional law at the University of Chicago for some of that time. I'm sure he also worked on writing his second book.

Also, politicians do a lot of work when they are not sitting in the senate. You know, constituency work - meeting with real people, listening to them, working with community leaders and activists, etc. not to mention preparing and drafting legislation.

You must be aware that the US senate meets only about 170 days a year. They also do other stuff during the rest of the year, and don't just sit on their hands.

I don't know where this rumor started. The Illinois Senate has met 50 times already this year. Clearly they meet more than 50 times a year.
