Protein in Urine?

Attempting to get a DOT cerification for driving. The Doctor said my urine test showed protien. I have blood pressure issues and I am taking meds for that. She said that sometimes with HBP you will have protien in your urine.

What other situations will cause this?

Well with a simple blood sugar test you could confirm or rule out the diabetes....

Surely you must know a diabetic friend with a meter who would be willing to test you... And explain the results...

By the way, the test strips are a buck each. Ya know what most diabetics crave? Chocolate. The kind with no sugar. If you ever wanted to be a hero... This chocolate is usually sold at specialty shops or drug stores.

A lot of the other things have simple tests too. Now if you knew a friend who was a nurse....

Diabetes can cause protein in the urine. Check your sugar level as well!

i have a commercial b license with airbrakes and tank endorsement. it may be your kidneys or high blood pressure. they want you to control it then retest at the clinic to show a lower amount of blood, protein or sugars in your urine. good luck.
