What do you think our language tells us about Racism and Sexism?

There are millions of different ways to describe both different races, and gender differences, yet it is always wrong to use racial slurs, but rarely wrong to use gender slurs. B*** or C*** are probably tow of the most common words used in language today. Weak men, women we don't like, pretty much anything negative. Yet, its ok to use this word to describe a woman still. Do you think this shows that discrimination against women as seen as ok, while minorities have maybe made it further in terms of equality? Do you think this has affected the Presidential race?

Update:

I'm a guy, and believe me I don't feel sorry for women in the slightest. However, I do think sexism is till acceptable in society. I'm not in too much of a hurry to personally try to stop it, though I don't promote it either.

Update 2:

Hey Karen... Remember the salem witch trials ;) and before you say men were stoned to death or burnt at the stake too, whites were hung too... People are too willing to selectively remember history.

Democrats use of "Identity Politics" once they are defeated this election cycle, may drop "Racism and Sexism" from their campaign playbook and focus on issues alone.

As a former democrat, this is the one area that the Democratic Party has consistently done to themselves since 1972! Divide and conquer, never a new idea!

As long as I'm getting equal treatment under the law the terms c*** or b**** don't bother me in the slightest. Words can only hurt you if you let them but actions(or lack of action) is what causes the real pain and discrimination.

Think of it this way: Would you want someone to call your mother or wife or daughter those things? If not, then you are a proponent of stopping the gender abusive language that floods our ears today.

The reason black "people" have gotten farther? THINK. It's black men who are demanding the difference. The black women go along thinking they are included but many times are seen as just hood ornaments for their newly respected male counterparts' escalades.

i love being a woman! i wouldn't want to be a man! no offense! i like hillary so don't go there but don't feel sorry for me because of gender ! you may be used to being called the above names but that was high school stuff for me. I don't get called that and i'm not afraid to be unladylike if I was to.when my daughter was in 3rd grade a boy called her some of those things and she slapped his face! a few boys at the stop with her put him in his place real quick
