Did they add or take away anything from the KJV? If they did then no, it does not line up with the bible. :)

It could be argued that the bits that line up were lifted directly from the King James Bible!! And it is argued often.

Also, Mr. Smith was working on a new "translation", via "revelation", of the bible when he was shot... oops, sorry, martyred. For this he used the KJV, not the original texts. He WROTE HIMSELF into the book of Genesis, among other things!!! He was making damned sure that any parts that DIDN'T seem to line up, soon would. This, for me, is the most breathtaking shocker in all of Mormon doctrine and history. Making excuses to marry other men's wives and passing it off as "revelation" is pretty shonky, but understandable, in a sad sort of way. Making up extra stuff and new scriptures is desperate and lame. But actually altering the first book of the Old Testament, common to Judaism and Islam as well as Christianity, to suit one's needs seems nothing short of diabolical. Even if I were an athiest and accorded the bible no respect whatsoever, Joe's fiddling with the Good Book is exactly what he accused "apostates" of, and therefore the chunkiest, most steaming lump of hypocrisy ever.

Poster: I know you're trolling. But I'm as pissed off as you are. Fun, isn't it?

In the Book of Mormon, the 3rd book of Nephi, you can almost go chapter by chapter and find correlation to the Book of Isiah in the Bible. It happens all throughout the Book of Mormon, so I guess it lined up with the Bible. WE believe the Bible to be the word of GOd. WHy can't the bashers get this through their head? It's the KJV and considered holy scripture.

No. The bible doesn't say that you can become a god.

Why do cults use abbreviations for their cult instead of just spelling it out?
