Homer receives exciting news for the publisher...?
*****
Dear Homer,
We have evaluated your manuscript. We
believe there is commercial viability in your
story and have decided to publish it in our
upcoming periodical; En Globus Cyclio, with
the following changes:
1. Instead of trade relations causing the war, we
want a mad-naked woman to be kidnapped and
stolen across the Aegean, only to fall in love with her
captor.
2. During the war, we want Ulysses to build a giant
hollow horse, fill it with Kung Fu guys, then sneak it
into the city under the guise of a gift.
We hope these adjustments meet with your approval.
Sincerely,
Trojan Press.

Dear Trojan Press,
I am fully aware of the commercial implications of your requests. However, at this point, I have already been contacted by Cyclops Publishers. Furthermore, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are considering buying the rights of my manuscripts for a series of twelve movies (Odyssey - Episode 2 to 12, plus the prequel, Episode 1). You might want to reconsider, by Zeus.
Yours faithfully,
Homer

Dear Sir or Madam:
I agree that Helen is much more interesting than any trade agreement could possibly be. Could you also arrange for me to meet Siren? We all love her songs. As for the horse, I would suggest an elephant or a donkey. Please let me know what you think.
Sincerely yours,
Odysseus

Dear Homer,
Can you shorten it? Especially important when it goes to film.

Isn't Autism amazing? We find out our child is Autistic and you feel like you have been punched in the gut, you worry about how it will be for you and more importantly what struggles your child is going to face, will he be able to go to normal school? Will he be able to have friends? Will he be able to live alone into adulthood? Other parents look forward to their child going off to college when they turn 18 or just moving out of the house- those of us with Autistic children wonder if we will be taking care of them until we die- and when we do who will take care of them then? I found out 4 months ago that my son was Autistic- I always knew something was not right. When I found out- like MOST people- I hadn't a clue what it REALLY meant- and as my speech therapist explained to me, no one can understand- because every Autistic child is so different the experience of having one is completely different for each parent. What I have found out since- is that Autistic children give you a totally different sense of pride and love! I believe exactly what you said- it's going to be a long journey! But they can learn! And they are actually USUALLY smarter than most kids! ;-) They just have problems expressing themselves and socially interacting- how your child deals with those issues is different for every one of them! Since I started working with my son and have learned what I can- in just four months he has gone from a vocabulary of 2-3 words to one of 15 with many animal sounds, I can ask my son for a hug and he will run to me but he does not reciprocate the hug he just lets me hug him, but yesterday- when I told my two year old Autistic son that I loved him, he made a kissy face to me :-) I almost cried! He loves me too even if he has a hard time showing it! With a great optimistic mom like yourself- your child can overcome anything! It's all about figuring out how to "reach" them. That being said- if you haven't you should read the book "What can I do for my Autistic Child RIGHT NOW?" by Jonathan Levy- I picked it up when I found out and it has AWESOME techniques that have helped my son IMMENSELY! We can always use a little extra help when dealing with the unknown so I just thought I would share things that have helped make my child better with you- Also there is a listening therapy CD out there called eASE- you may be able to find it online- since I started my son on it twice a day for 30 minutes he now has UNBELIEVABLE Eye contact compared to where it was 4 months ago! I don't know exactly how it works I just know that it is TRULY helping my toddler! CONGRATS TO YOU and YOUR LITTLE ONE! PARTY TIME!!

We do live in wreckage of the past, seemly it catches up with us, too bad the super power elite can't see through their
power and greed.
