Which current player is the "face" of the NFL?
I'm gonna have to say Peyton Manning...and I think Tom Brady is a close second.
Even as a Patriots fan, I just don't think Tom Brady has the type of "charm" that Peyton Manning has. He obviously has the "talent" factor...but it just doesn't seem like he has that all around "likablility" factor.

I agree with you on this one.
Peyton Manning has it all. He is a great QB, he is a team player, he is a good role model for people to look up to, he shows alot of sportsman ship, and like you said hes just an all around likeable guy. I think even if your not a fan of his, you still respect him.
Tom Brady would be my first choice if he had a better attitude, hes a great QB, but hes rude, hes not a team player, hes a sore loser, and a sore winner. If he could just learn to have the right personality and attitude he would be the "face" of the NFL. But until that happens he gonna be hated on.
So I agree with you on this 100%

OMG! I love it when a girl talks football!
Back to the subject at hand. I think you could argue that Peyton is but you are right Tom Brady is a close second. I also think it boils down to the community. In the white community that may be true as far as Peyton and Tom. In the black community I would say it would L.T or Vince Young. Not playing the race card it's just different players appeal to different races.

I'd have to go with Peyton Manning.
The problem with Tom Brady is that he plays for the Patriots, everyone's favourite team that they love to hate. The Patriots are the "bad guys" and the Colts are the "good guys." We all WANT to see Peyton win. He just comes across as a nice guy....a "guy's guy"...

That's a tough question because they're hasn't been a true "face" of the NFL in recent years like there was in the past. When you thought of the 60's you think of Bart Starr, in the 70's it was Roger Staubach, in the 80's it was Joe Montana, in the 90's to the early 2000's it was Brett Favre.
I think the reason there hasn't been one is because there hasn't been one guy to truly dominate an era yet. I think the closest thing that would come to mind for this era is Peyton Manning, although he doesn't have that connection and publicity with the fans like Favre and Staubach did during their times.
But, there is one guy that might take over the league very fast, and if he has an MVP-type season this year (which is very possible) I wouldn't be surprised if Adrian Peterson became the face of the NFL for years to come.

Since Brett Favre has retired there isn't anyone yet, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning both are in the running. However Eli Manning could be a surprise and fool us all.

I'd say a toss up between Peyton Manning and LaDanian Tomlinson. Both guys are coveted on the field playmakers, but off the field is more of what we are talking about. Neither of them are in the tabloids with stories about their supermodel girlfriends or are getting caught with drugs at stripclubs. Both keep a low profile but do big things for the community, I say it's a tie.

At this very moment it's unfortunate but the current face or faces of the NFL is the image of all those who are in deep legal trouble. It's all we hear about when the NFL becomes to topic of conversation. Until these stories go away, that's what the fans are left with.

im gonna have to say i agree with you...about peyton, that is.
tom has the looks and the super model girlfriend, but peyton has the last superbowl victory between the two. he is goofy looking, but it works. his commercials, they work. his accent, his work ethic, his superstar football family...all the reasons why he is the current face of the nfl.
eli is goofy, but not in a good way. he wouldnt be able to pull off them commercials the way peyton does. eli is also funny looking...but again, not in a good way. more in a down syndrome kinda way.
