Denali Alaska - Where do I stay without costing a fortune?

My Husband has a 2 day business trip in Anchorage and then we have 5 days to vacation. We wanted to get out of the City. Thanks to yahoo answers - we have decided to rent a car and go to Denali. A premium hotel is not as important because we do not plan on too much time in the room. Does anybody know of any reasonable hotels/motels.

There are numerous bed and breakfasts Between Cantwell and Healy. Access to Denali from there is quick and easy. Don't go to Fairbanks and try to do Denali.

I've stayed at the Dome Home in Healy. Nice and clean.

Here's a list for you to choose from:

You could stay at the denali princess lodge of Mt Mckinly princess hotel. they both have great views of the mountain. they are pretty expensive though. there arent many places that are cheap in denali you could go to fairbanks but its another 4 hours in the car. you could can camp out or rent an RV. Good luck :)

You are probably not going to get a room (this time of year) for less than $200-250 near Denali. A rental car is going to cost you at least a C-Note for the day.

Here is an idea... rent an RV. For about 150-200 per day. Now your driving and room are combined.

    Have fun

Well, don't stay in Denali...the park is outrageous. Drive to Fairbanks and get a hotel and take a flight back.
