Why does Islam prohibit non-Muslim wife from inheriting from her Muslim husband?

Standard religious bigotry. Islam is about 600 years behind the Christians who are about 500 years behind the rest of us.

shariah law is by far the farthest thing from islam

its a patriarchal backward system that islam completely does not set

islam gives the right for women to inherit everything if the husband dies

thats what the prophet muhammad(pbuh) preached but over the years the mindset of people changed and they set these patriarchal codes

anyways to the question why in shariah law non muslim women dont inherit as much probably because muslim to non muslim marriages are looked down upon anyways

in over all islam not just this shariah system

marriages to non muslims are prohibited either way due to many conflicts that can result from different religions marrying and problems for the kids

To protect the faith, since they may not stay in Islamic lands after their husband died, and they dd not wish to discourage any Muslims from marrying non Muslims for reason of material wealth, as long as they were people of the book.

It's been my understanding that a non-Muslim wife can inherit from her Muslim husband because like a Muslim wife, she also has rights.

In Islam its prohibited to marry with non-muslims. There is no question of Inheritance.
