Mary has to be sinless because that is from whom Jesus obtained his perfect humanity. To deny her sinlessness is to deny His humanity. If God miraculously made Jesus sinless in the womb of a sinful mother, then God created his humanity in a walking incubator, and the Incarnation would be a farce. Ultimately it is the heresy of Monosyphitism, which it was thought that Christ had just a divine nature, which the Church refuted at the council of Chalcedon.

None of the early reformers taught that Mary was a sinner. Thus, clearly, it is a man-made doctrine and a blasphemy against the Incarnation.

It is a doctrine of demons.

If Mary and Jesus were human then yes, Mary must have the same human nature as the rest of us. Also, if Mary was as special as to deserve the title Queen of Heaven and some mystical "assumption" I would really have expected Jesus to have told us more about it. I think Mary was a special woman and amazingly obedient to God, but she is not and never will be some semi-divine Queen of Heaven.

Edit - Love the thumbs down -- way to make the Catholic Church look good there!

    Mary was a sinner!

Jesus had to be born of the flesh!

Mary was just a vessel (a virgin vessel) God the Father utilized his own creation to die a human death from a fetus to Resurrection. He had to live as we do to experience his creation in the flesh as an atonment of sin. Hey it isn't about Mary... I don't care what the catholics say. It's all about Him.

If God had just created a human again... then his crucifixion would have been in vain. But he didn't. He provided a way!

In addition, Jesus is on the throne, Mary is not the "queen". She herself had to ask forgivness as well.

In the gospels at the wedding she told them to "do as He says". EVEN MARY WAS HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO THE LORD.

Of course I would make her sinless. I wouldn't place Jesus in a vessel that was unclean.

    God bless,
