Good Friday is the Friday before Easter.

Memorial Day is the last Monday in May.

So you would wish someone Blessed Good Friday on Good Friday.

And it is normal to say Happy Memorial Day, on Memorial Day.

Funny you should ask. Tonight I just said happy memorial day to my neighbor. I hope I didn't offend her. In a way, I'm sad that so much blood was shed to spare this nation. On the other hand, I'm happy that we have the freedoms that we do because of the sacrifice of other nobler souls. And it is in this latter context that I said "Happy Memorial Day."

  • It's uncommon... but I wouldn't say improper. Hey, why not? I say "Happy Friday" to people almost every week!
