How can I check to see if this memory is compatible with my PC?

My computer is nearly 6 years old and DESPERATELY needs more RAM. (It only has 512 MB right now)

I found this:

Kingston Technology - 1GB PC5300 DDR2 DIMM Memory

Computer Compatibility Desktop memory

Memory Size 1GB

Type of Memory PC5300 DDR2

Speed 667MHz

Pin Configuration 240-pin DIMM

On sale at Best Buy. I would buy it, but I'm not sure if it's compatible or not. How would I go about checking to make sure, preferably in a way that wouldn't require me opening up the case? (I'll worry about that once I actually have the memory to be installed.)

Update:

If it helps at all, the computer was top of line when we bought it. =p It's worked fine up until recently, now it's starting to show it's age.

Update 2:

Here is what I DO know about my PC. (Not much, lol)

Pentium (R) 4CPU 2.66 GHz

2.66GHz, 512 MB of RAM

im 90% sure ddr2 wont work. its a newer technology that i dont think was around six years ago. try www.crucial.com il tell u.you probably have the original ddr

if ur still going to use the 512mb u have now make sure the 1gb is the same speed as the 512mb. if the 512mb is slower the 1gb will have to slow down to the speed of the 512mb. not only will you lose performance but there might be a stability

    issue.

installing memory is very easy. just put it in the slot thats it. ive been hadaling pc parts since i was 9. fyi make sure u dont have any static electricity it could damage it. just touch the inside of the case it should fix that.

    i would guess 400mhz ddr.
