Do you think Gas prices are directly related to two oil men being in the white house?

Or is it just a coinsidence?

Update:

Listen Scott, I'm just asking a question. Nieve? I don't think it's me that's nieve. I wanted to see what people thought. You're typical, I would expect an answer like that from someone like you.

Thing is, I've heard this from people and I wanted to see what people thought. yes you can read the papers and make your own desicions. I am well informed, what's the matter scotty, don't like me picking on the president? Come on people, use your brains. It's a question, not necessarily what I believe.

There are a lot of factors that are leading to gas prices being so high.

Bush is not the biggest factor; however, he does have a lot to do with the prices of gas world wide!

The biggest factors I think include:

    OPEC.

    Gas companies.

    Auto industry.

Laws congress passed making it illegal to own, sell and mass produce cars that don't use any gas at all.

Not enough oil refineries in the US and around the world

    Terrorism.

OPEC is not allowing them to release more oil from the Middle East.

    The war in Iraq.

Value of the dollar is gone way down.

    Halliburton

PEOPLE WILL NOT GET OUT AND PROTEST THIS S**T!

One more thing to keep in mind: The more Hybrid cars people buy, the less gas the companies will sell, that means they have to charge more for gas to make the same amount of money they used to make.

You really aren't as well informed as your little mind allows you to believe. Oil is a world commodity, it's traded on every world market. ALL prices are driven by supply and demand. Oil is priced by the US dollar. When the value of the dollar drops the price of oil and other commodities rise. Congress has more control over the US oil consumption and production of oil than the President, Vice-President, or share holders of an oil company. When Cheney entered the race for VP he sold all shares of Halliburton for a tidy sum of $300,000,000 and gave it ALL to charity. Now, chew on that for a while.

No. I don't think that those two men have joined forces and driven the price of oil and gas up globally. That's just too far fetched and giving them too much credit for power they don't have.

Oil is like any other consumable product and the price is affected by supply and demand. Demand refers to how much of a product or service is desired by buyers (Oil). The Supply represents how much the market can offer (not as much as it could a few years ago oil is not renewable). The correlation between price and how much of a good or service is supplied to the market is known as the supply relationship. Price, therefore, is a reflection of supply and demand.

Call me a conspiracy theorist , but there is an awful lot of evidence that this administration had a plan! How can you not wonder with all the coincidences and scandal of this administration. With Scott McClellan's book out (coincidentally now) even if it is for the wrong reasons-I believe he is telling the truth. Bush & Co. used this poor sap, knowing that he would believe anything they told him-since he was a Bushie for 10 years or so. So much for loalty. "If you want a friend in Washington-get a dog"!

LOL @ Brian, a real contributor. Brian.... how can Obama and or the democrats be in charge for prime gasoline expenses and under no circumstances be in workplace?? Brian noted for his contributions to Yahoo solutions, states that the democrats are in charge for the severe gasoline expenses even notwithstanding the democrats at present don't have the capacity to strengthen or decrease gasoline expenses. Brian... the democrats are not contained in the white living house... umm... basically in case you probably did not know. individuals, as you'll discover.... basically because you're a "authentic contributor does not make you a sensible individual. "stupid is as stupid does. Wow Brian.

Nope. It's related directly to libs not letting us drill for oil on our own land. It's also directly related to the cost of combining the gasoline with ethanol which is an incredibly expensive process that is actually BAD for the environment and horrible for the world food supply. Another liberal idea.

  • 1 decade ago

Of course not. Neither the President or Vice president have any control over oil prices.

Oil prices are dictated by international supply and demand. Gas prices are dictated by oil prices. If you weren't so naive you could read a newspaper and figure that one out. But I guess for you it's just convenient to blame it on Bush and remain uninformed.

Yes. Absolutely. He's in his last months in office, so the oil companies are getting what they can while they can.

Scott--gas prices are not related to supply and demand.

No. It is directly related to our unwillingness to increase the supply of oil through the recovery of oil in the US..
