Do you cover the gray hairs or accept the inevitable?

I prefer to color at this time, but hope someday to quit spending money on hair dyes.

Update:

I am afraid to see how many silver highlights I have, and hubby says keep coloring, even offered to pay for me to go to the salon so.......

Update 2:

Remember that old commercial-Only her hairdresser knows for sure.

Lady Clariol and I have regular visists, I don't have a lot of grey yet, but I don't color because of the grey. I had my hair nearly every color it could be (even green for St. Patty's), it's been streaked, frosted, tipped, and lets not get into different colors. It's been from super short to where when I sat down if I didn't move it I jerked my own head back from sitting on it. The last few years it just gets a nice light aubrun and I call it good. Length wise it is once more almost to my waist. Once it gets a little longer it will get cut for kids that need wigs from cancer treatments or any other hair loss. It much be 10 inches, but I would like it to be left long enough to put it up during the summer.

I know you should accept who and what you are but for me I have to dye my hair and hide the grey hair. Luckily even at my age I do not have a full head of grey hair but there is enough of them for me to colour my hair. When there gets to be too many then I will just let the grey hair take over. There comes a time when enough is enough spending money on hair dyes. Its no good dyeing your hair to hopefully look younger when the face and body do not match the hair.

The inevitable is unacceptable for me. I had black hair and it started to turn fairly early. You can not dye hair black without it looking like a goth kid so I have gone lighter warmer and streaked a bit of highlight into it. I love this color....it is fun. No way am I going gray. My hubby agrees.

I am 40 yrs. old and starting to get some gray hairs. I have dark blonde hair so it dont show up to much.

I'm not sure if I want to color it yet. I'm going to wait and see how bad it looks. Some people look good with it, even in streaks.

I'm allowing my grey to come in and I don't mind it. I colored

my hair for many many years when I wanted to highlight and

get rid of the 'mousey' brown shades. Now that I should color

it, I can't afford to keep it up. So it's not as bad as I thought

as the silver is actually attractive and catches the light. My

hair darkened drastically, after coloring, before I spied my

first few strands of grey a few years ago. Now it is coming in

heavily, but I'm not going to hide it. I feel they are battle scars

and I've earned each and every one of them LOL.

I began coloring my hair when I attended cosmetology class in my late thirties. I went a while without coloring it, but then the gray set in, so I keep it colored. I thought the gray patches made me look so dragged out & so much older than I really was, so I keep it colored now & it's a really close match to my hair color, before I began coloring it.

Too much grey to continue the color battle, so have gone grey and it looks o.k. I spend the money on a good haircut instead of color.

I tried to to go natural once as my hair is now about 60%

grey. It was a dirty grey and always looked as if it needed

washing. My daughters persuaded me to colour it again,

They said my grey hair made me look too old.

I realised they felt threatened a tad by the idea of me aging

    bless them!!

I started going noticeably gray in my mid-twenties. Myself, I don't much care one way or the other. My wife started to gray about six years ago, and I told her that it didn't bother me. She colored her hair for awhile and then stopped. She still looks great to me!
