i just had a c section 6 days ago and have noticed that the skin above my incision is yellowish in color. its?

also swollen and lumpyish, i figure i just got cut open, there will be swelling, and the lumpy look i think is just stretch marks that are portrudig because of the swelling. im concerned about they yellowing though- its my second cesearean and i dont recall any skin color change after the first. im pretty worried, is this normal, should i be worried about infection? anybody have any ideas?

As long as you are not seeing any puss that is yellow I wouldn't be concerned. With my c-section I had a lumpy incision and I was worried it was going to heal like that, but it didn't. It is just tissue swelling and healing! Good Luck!

    Congrats on your baby!

It's from the iodine. I had this, too, with my C-section. Sounds perfectly normal. If you're not experiencing severe pain(some pain is to be expected) or any bleeding from the area then I wouldn't worry about it.

It could be yellowing from the iodine they used to clean the area before the c section.

Watch it and make sure you don't start bleeding from it. My g/f just had one and it was BADLY infected. She ended up going back to the hospital for 3 days and was in critical care! She had such a bad infection it ozzed out when they removed her bandages. Be very careful and if you think something is off, get it check out just to be safe. Six days is long enough, you should know if there looks like infection - GL!
