MBT shoes, Masai Barefoot Technology, do they work?

Has anyone tried a pair of MBT trainers? I have heard about them and hear how they can help ease back and leg pains, but as they are so expensive I'd like to know if anyone thinks they work before I get some.

I have weak arches in my feet and have lax joints so there is too much movement in my joints when I walk. Does anyone know if these shoes would help me?

Thanks

Current theory is that they can do more harm than good...

I have had my MBT's for acouple of weeks now. I was in pain of my hip, groin muscle, knee (right) I have been going to the chiropractor and I asked him about the shoe and he has a pair. I did buy them, I was just so tired of being in pain. I recently turned 51. I love the shoes. From the first time I put them on I have not been in any pain at all. My right foot that would turn out, has turned back in again. My chiropractor said that after just 6 days in them he said that my deep muscles in my hip is improving. Now I am going to the gym and to further improve. My posture is better for sure by wearing them.

If you have underlying health problem like Arthritis then they can do more harm than good. Likewise I recently witness an elderly lady 'wearing' them, or should I state trying to walk in them, it was so finny it was sad! However if you wear them as a late teenager, after you have stop growing, they will be good form of exercise. Best of Luck

MBTs are very good have used them for a couple of years now but they take a bit of getting used to, i dont know if they will neccesarily help with back pains but they do help your posture and you burn more calories wnen you wear them.
