We live on Vancouver Island in the City of Courtenay which is located in the Comox Valley. There is waterfront accommodations most anywhere on the Island from budget to extreme high end. You have to decide if you want rugged shoreline with beautiful sandy beaches and great waves to go surfing which you will find on the west Side of the Island in the communities of Tofino or Ucuclet. If you wish great scuba diving you will probably desire the east coast on the Straits of Georgia where you can scuba dive, go sport fishing, boating, sailing etc. There are campgrounds located right up the east side from Victoria right up to Port Hardy as well as resorts such as the Kingfisher Lodge, April Point Resort on Quadra Island and numerous other places in the Comox Valley and Campbell River. The weather is usually great in July with a hotter than normal summer predicted. Enjoy your visit.

Another suggestion is Tofino on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. There is a lot of waterfront accomodation there. For more information, check the websites listed below.

Consider the northern part of the Island including Port Hardy, Port McNeill, Alert Bay. Cheaper than the south end and very beautiful unspoiled scenery. Lots of B&B's and camping sites if you are into that.

Best diving, terrific fishing and lots of indigenuos cultural sites.

Victoria, BC, is a astonishing position. you need "Butchart Gardens" - it really is the position that one and each and each of the travelers flow to! the inner harbour has lots of little merchants, and the "Undersea Gardens". also, make certain that you do look into the Royal BC Museum!
