I've had a really good day, so why do I feel like crying?

Today I passed my driving test (after several attempts) and I had an offer accepted on a house..........initially this afternoon I was really happy and excited, but now a few hours later I feel really low and like I'm going to cry. I have no idea why though. I do suffer from depression, not sure whether that could be related or not.

Anyone else experience things like this? Is there any reason for it??

Yeah its kind of an emotion dump. LIke. okay you know how drugs work? They modify the chemicals in your brain so you feel really happy, but then when you come off them, your brain over compensates by underproducing the chemical thus, you feel sad, depression worsens this feeling, you should be okay in a couple hours when your brain balances out.

Wow! You've made it through very stressful events in your life! No wonder your body needs to release all that pent up tension!

Is it an ongoing thing that you're experiencing? Is it an everyday occurrence? If so, then it might be good to talk to a mental health professional about getting some meds and counseling, which should go hand in hand. It might also be something biological going on to check out with your physician (e.g., thyroids, hormone imbalances, etc).

    Good luck!

sounds like an emotional release after passing thru 2 highly stressful things. crying can be cleansing to the soul. does not in itself mean you are depressed. congrats on the driving test and the offer on the house.

It might be because of your depression. Also, sometimes you feel so happy that it can make you acute to other people's misery or sadness. Seeing someone less happy or fortunate than you (like, you said you passed the driving test. Maybe someone didn't) then it can bring you down. It's psychological.
