What is the purpose of Father Phleger?

Priests should be held to a higher standard, but, they are human, too. Fr. Phleger was way out of line in his comments and he should be sent away for a long time to reflect on his future in the priesthood. The Church pulpit is not a place to talk politics.

Priests are people too and sometimes they take sides, on the pretext of righteousness. No, it isn't what I go to church for but this church seems to be unusual.

Just stand back and watch, that stunt was just so Obama would have an unquestioned reason to leave the church.

I don't see father Phleger comments as hateful but truthful ,who really thought Obama would get this far ,i didn't Hillary is "white" more Americans relate to her as first class citizen thus (the popular vote).When Obama started to gain momentum with super delegates Hillary started throwing cheap shots at Obama ,because she realized he was a real competitor/threat .Why didn't she think he was competition at first? Because a black guy has never been vice president how could a rookie senator become the president of the United States especially when American is more familiar with the Clinton's

In a nutshell--money. Money is the motivator for such hatred and evil whether black or white with these types of people.

Though it was rather stupid and sarcastic, I really didn't hear anything hateful in Father Phleger's rant. Please quote the hateful part.

Father Phleger was censured by the Bishop. He apologized for what he said. Obama has repudiated his statements. The guest homily was made in the Trinity Church of Christ after Obama had resigned from this church. Where is the relevance?

The priests I grew up with would have been thrown out a LONG time ago!

You can see he's not right upstairs, umm, reminds of another man of the cloth, rev. wright!

The Catholic church has suspended him. There is some sanity in the world.

Apparently not. That's why the Cardinal/Archbishop of Chicago has suspended him for two weeks for some "reflection."

Pfleger looks like a creepy Alter Boy toucher to me.

Just a glimpse into what Obama believed for over 20 years and now wants us to think he doesnt hold those type of views.
