how do you write song lyrics or poetry?

A good song comes from the heart. You look at most musicians today its the same thing, Drugs,Sex,Money,Haters Hating. Nothing from the deep down heart! I write songs that just come to me.

A poem mainly comes from past problems or experiences, don't speak the song, let the song speak to you!

You don't have to be a good writer AT ALL to write songs and/or poetry,well you can write about anything, politics, the system, love, current affairs, random stuff, ANYTHING! do something that inspires you maybe different feelings and surroundings trigger different emotions such as maybe sitting under the stars at night, running through a field, doing a sport you like, sitting at home the possibilities are absolutely endless!

You just write what you feel or think. Write out ideas, feelings, opinions, or just words that you think are cool, anything.

It doesn't have to go in order or develop into a masterpiece right away. Get something down on paper, anything, just free write, and then after a while you'll get more ideas and will find a way to to start putting the thoughts and words together. Good luck.

What I do is just think of something that inspires me in some way or triggers some kind of emotion. From that point, I just come up with certain phrases that I think work well with what I'm thinking. Then I work around that to fill things in. You just gotta let it flow, because forcing it never works well.

Write about something that is special to you, that you know alot about, or something that comes natural to you and just write it down. Lyrics, and Poems don't have to rhyme so you dont have to worry about that. So just let it come naturally and write about anything that is important or just comes.

Just write something down and if you play intsrument try to make a beat to what you wrote, or change what you wrote to fit the beat you like.

just write.

Whatever you want, however you want.

think of something deep and then write it down. if its a fast song you want to write it doesnt really matter if it rhymes . but usually slow songs rhyme and it makes it sound better. just saying ;D

go to a quiet place. then think hard. let your feelings be free..just write what you feel. that's what i'm doing whenever we need poem in school. =]
