If ignorance is bliss, intelligence is...?

Looking for some intelligent (or sublime) answers...

Update:

In my experience (and I'm not that intelligent!!), all four of you are right!

Update 2:

In my experience (and I'm not that intelligent!!), all four of you are right!

Update 3:

Billy...ouch..great point, though.

Update 4:

the one point I disagree w/is the "enlightening" comment. I don't think you can achieve enlightenment through raw intelligence (if anything the over-analysis that comes w/it could keep you away from it!) Kinda like how you have your best ideas/think clearer when you have on of those few vegetative moments..I like that you have a good outlook on it. Intelligence does have its burdens, but it is a gift.

Update 5:

Jen....you remind me of my Ethics professor (good thing).

Misery. I can only say that simple is nice, you smile at someone they smile back, you help others they help you back. There are those who claim intelligence that make things much more complicated than this, because they constantly want to prove their intelligence by belittling others instead of sharing the knowledge they know, does this make them intelligent or ignorant, you decide, but I can tell you that once one comes to this realization, they never have the bliss of ignorance again. So maybe the entire goal is to spread misery in the name of intelligence, which is purest form of ignorance in my opinion, but who am I, nobody that matters. I guess I'm just ignorant because I depend on others to change my motor if it breaks down, which leaves me as a target for all sorts of abuse, but it is my own fault considering if I took the time to learn how to change a motor I wouldn't need a mechanic, too bad I don't know everything. ;-)

If ignorance is bliss, intelligence is being aware

Aware of the many dangers and evils of the world and using reason and will to overcome these trepidations.

I think admitted intelligence can make you ignorant.
