38 weeks pregnant-Inducing-Large baby?

Question

I am measuring at 43 weeks now and am very uncomfortable. I had an ultrasound at 33 weeks due to large measurements and this boy is big. His head measured 39 weeks and body at 37 weeks large. Yikes! I have had a very normal pregnancy my appt is tomorrow. Am I wrong to want to induce? At my 33 week ultrasound the heart looked great and the lungs were working very well. My dr. told me he has induced (when the cervix is ready)  at 38 weeks for people that don't have large babies they are just uncomfortable and can't sleep. I would rather have him come on his time frame but I am worried about him getting to big in the next two weeks that I won't be able to get him out. Fear and excitment to meet him is setting in. What do you think?

I would defiantly induce you don't want him to get so big that they have to do a c-section on you.

Get Induced! You have suffered long enough! I am one of the cases that has been induced (twice) because I was uncomfortable and just tired! Go right ahead if it wasn't okay the doctor wouldn't suggest it. Besides, its pretty cool having a baby "planned" Theres no rushing, freaking out, calling people...lol! Good Luck!

hi there no you are not wrong to induce you are 38 weeks pregnant which means if your baby came out today it would be healthy. i got induced for the same reason as you with my first one my baby was 8 ibs and 14 oz and it hurt with a epidural lol and this one i am going c section because i bled alot with my last pregnancy good luck and may god bless you and your baby

This kind of stuff makes me mad. as they could or might not be right.
My son was measureing at 43 weeks when I was 37 weeks. and he was breech position. well they told me lets go ahead and do a section..becuz first off hes already about 9lbs...Well guess wut we had him at 38 weeks and he was 7lbs 11 ozs...
Its really your choice to wait or go ahead..and it is a tricky situation...GOOD LUCK

Note that I had the same doctor each time i have 4 kids and he was never off before...he really was a good doctor
