How profitable is a pond business? (small fish ponds, etc)?

I worked at a pool/pond store when I was in high school....so I can give you all the input I have! During the spring/summer months, it was busy! The store specialized in small ponds, fountains, koi fish, gold fish and pond plants, as well as concrete yard decor. The downfall of this business is that it is seasonal unless you live in a warmer area. Also, you have to find your niche. If you only sell plastic liners and fish, you may have problems. But the store I worked for really did have a lot of things to offer....including installation of ponds. Good luck with your business ventures. The store was so much fun to work at and really did a good amount of business!
