    You can't. You can only divide it into 2 equal halves or 3 equal thirds.

    You have one apple (1/1), no matter how hard you try, you cut it into 3 halves (you can't make 1/1 = 3/2 :P)

    halves are 2 pieces.

    thirds are 3 pieces.

    so to divide it into 3 equal PARTS, you would have to cry a lot. apples aren't symmetric. therefore, not equal. CLOSE. but not equal.

    divide it into 3 sectors wth sector angle 120 deg each
