how do i uninstall programs using Windows Vista?

I installed a program on my desktop and now I want to uninstall it. Now I don't want it anymore so I want to uninstall it but I am new to Windows Vista and I am slightly confused. My old Windows program I used I could go to the Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs. Now with Window Vista I go to Control Panel and see Add Hardware.

How do I remove a program?

click on control panel, click icon that says programs and features. run your cursor over program you want to get rid of a little square box will appear next to program, check the box, a check mark will appear in box, near top left of window will say uninstall / change, click it. also right click icon on your desktop click delete and that will take the program icon off your desktop

Go to start > control pannel

Then on the left column click on the small writing saying switch to classic view

Now it should be just like in you old XP. look for the add/remove programs icon.
