1st time Father's Day gift ideas?

I am 22 weeks pregnant and this is our first child. My husband treated me really well on mother's day where we took me for lots of shopping, movies and at favorite restaurant. I was so touched.

I want to do something special for him and want to present him something from his son to be born. Like a gift which I can wrap and leave a message like "Dad, can't wait to meet you."

My husband is working that day so it will be hard to do much except for dinner. What do you guys suggest that I buy for him which apparently would be a gift from son to father?

There is a great website called GiftMap.Info

    http://www.giftmap.info/

It has all kinds of different suggestions. I will direct you to the section that deals with personalization. Some are products, but there are also free services, too.

    Check it out:

Aww how sweet you guys are!

Well, is there something special your hubby likes to do, something that would have meaning to him? E.g. if he was in the services, you could get him something with a military symbol on it, or if he golfs you could get him a "lucky club".

Ok so I don't really know about hobbies, but you get the idea. Or, you could get him a nice watch, tie clip, something that basically he can carry with him or keep forever, this is a very special Father's Day and he will like being able to look back at the first gift from his son. If he is the sort of fellow who likes jewelry, maybe a ring or something?

What I think is that you should make a basic scrapbook with pages on fishing and other things a son and father would do together so that over the years, he can insert pictures of him and his son into it and create memories to last a lifetime. With it, give him a note saying something like:

    "Dear Dad,

I want you to have this scrapbook so once i'm born, you and I can make the best memories together. We can go fishing and hiking and stuff when I come. I can't wait to meet you, and I know we'll have fun.

    Your son,

(a name if you have one, and if not, just "Your Son.")"

Good luck with your baby and I hope you all enjoy him. hope this helps...

I think a Nice dinner a card would be a nice start. And for a gift maybe something sports related like baseball gloves one for him and one for the little guy on the way, inside the card say "Can't wait to play ball with you daddy"! Just something father son related that shows future plans.

Just my two cents for what its worth.

Congratulations on your pregnancy - I hope all is going well and that you're enjoying it!

How about personalized matching father-son t-shirts? They have lots of different styles to choose from.

Or an engraved pocket watch - you could engrave a message from your son!

Good luck with the pregnancy and Father's Day!

    Hmmmm....

I think u should make him his favorite dinner....

For dessert, you should bring in one of those cheesecakes that have a picture, and u can also take a picture of ur ultrasound and have the ppl print it out on edible paper and place it on the cake...

I dunno if ull be freaked out by eating a cake with a picture of ur baby on it so if u dont feel like doing that, you can always get something else like a cake formed into whatever you feel like will make him happy, and also write what u mentioned before : Daddy, i cant wait to finally meet you.

And after dinner and desert, go out to watch a sunset or do something romantic.

Sorry if this sounds confusing haha..

I still like the idea of I can't wait to meet you daddy! That is wonderful! And like someone else said if you have an ultrasound pic get a border made for it (wal-mart does this for cheap) and put it in a frame that says I love my daddy! And take him somewhere he enjoys such as hooters or a sports bar type place and surprise him in the middle of dinner with it!

I think you should get him something to remind he is a father. something he can share with his child. I remember one time someone wrote a poem for fathers day, it was amazing. I think a poem would be great because it has a personal touch and it comes from heart. do something that he can recite to the baby, something he wont forget. people dont believe me when i say im only 13, but i can still give help.

I going to give the baby's daddy a little onesie that says "Daddy's outdoor buddy"...he loves fishing and camping and snowboarding, etc., so I got the little outfit to reflect the sorts of things I know he'd like to do as a family together one day. I wish they had a fishing one, but they didn't. I got green because we don't know if it's a boy or girl, and that's *somewhat* neutral, I suppose.

I think you should give him a card and buy him the book "Why daughters need daddy's" It is so beautiful!! I gave it to by husband for fathers day too last year.
