What does a borderline EKG mean? It also showed a slightly enlarged left atrium.?
I had an EKG a few days ago in preparation for donating a kidney to my husband. Should I be worried about this result? I'm 56 and feel fine.
The nurse at the transplant center gave me a copy of the report to take to my regular doctor, with whom I have my routine physical next week. That is why I know what the report says.

I'm surprised they didn't explain your results to you afterwards, but lets see....
An EKG is just a machine that shows the electrical output of your heart...how you can have a borderline one i'm not sure....
As far as an enlarged left atrium....the left atrium recieves blood from the lungs then pushes the blood the the left ventricle which pushes blood throughout the entire body...I wouldn't say that having a slightly enlarged one would be such a bad thing.
I wouldn't be too worried about it especially if they are going ahead with the surgery. Your doing a brave thing, and your husband is lucky to have you.

I have no idea, but I hope all goes well for you and your husband! I'm sure that if it was something to worry about, the would have told you to get into your doctor sooner.

What did the cardiologist recommend? I mean, did he/she recommend you have another test on your heart? If no one said anything other then it was borderline speak to the cardiologist who viewed your ekg.
