can laptops be shipped into usa? If so..how?If not..why?
my husband is in pakistan and wants to send a laptop to me, I hesrd that electronics can not be shipped to usa:( but then I see websites from other countries and they are selling cheap laptops and shipping to usa. so I would like to know if shipping laptops is restricted then how are these websites doing it and how can i ship it too???

I'm not aware of any *import* restrictions on electronics. A check with Homeland Security does not turn up any prohibitions

The laptop would need to clear customs. Any airport with international flights will have a customs office, and one can contact them for specifics. Note that customs has the right to search and inspect anything brought into the country, and this includes the contents of the hard drive.

One must ask if it would be economical after paying the shipping and import duties. With all due respect to Pakistan's electronics industry, perhaps buying a laptop in the US would make more sense.
