Alaska Gear - How much warm gear should I bring?

I am leaving June 11. We are staying in an RV for a week. 1/2 the time in Denali - the other half at Kenai Penninsula. I started packing some real cold gear and started getting carried away (i think). Can somebody help me out???

just think layers and you will be fine. the weather changes fast it can be hot and sunny one minute and the next kicking up a storm. it will not be below 30F so don't go over board.

oh FYI bring lots and lots of bug dope

I live about 50 miles from Denali. Ummmm it gets to 105F in the sun during the day between 11am and 5pm or so - and the sun is now up 22 hours! This time of year is serious t-shirt and short season.

Bring one sweater and one medium jacket that is a good windbreaker - no need to bring a winter coat. A comfy flannel shirt of two for those mornings when your RV is not parked in a sunny place.

    Hope this helps!

The only time you need good cold weather gear for an Alaskan Summer trip is if you are hunting, living in a tent, mountain climbing above the tree line, or doing some off shore charter fishing trips.

dont go overboard it gets into the 70's during the day. jacket, sweatshirt and sweater is about all you need. At Denali you will need mosquito netting or they will eat you alive. Long sleeve shirts, hat (even light weight gloves) mosquitos are more hazardous than cold this time of year. Rain coat also
