Can you bring outside food into an airport and on the plane?

I understand the rules that liquids are not allowed. But can I bring dried fruits and beef jerky into the airport, passed security and onto the plane? I am flying domestic from Sky Harbor, AZ Any help is appreciated!

Yes, i bring food from the outside and put it in my backpack at security and eat it while I am waiting for a plane all the time.

"All food must go through the X-ray machine. Do NOT bring food to the security checkpoint unwrapped,...

Food must be wrapped or in a container. Unpeeled natural foods like fruit are okay, but half-eaten fruits must be wrapped."

So, make sure they are still wrapped or in a container, and inside your carry-on luggage. As for liquids, some beverages can be brought onto a plane, such as those required for special needs individuals (e.g. baby formula, sugar-free beverage for a diabetic senior citizen, et cetera)

All food must be wrapped, unless it has peels (like a banana).

Dont bring food that have a strong odor, as the people areound you might be giving you strange looks .

Also, beware that some foods can be used as weapons, and might cause problem. An apple can be used as a weapon (baseball), and Curry can be thrown in peoples eyes.

    Enjoy your flight!

As far as I know you can. I always bring crisps and sandwiches on here in england. You may as well take it. If for some reason you can't which I highly doubt, they will just get you to leave it at security.
