  • What was the de facto language used back in Middle Ages?

We all know that English is the language we used today for business, traveling, etc. But what language was used back in the middle ages? For example, if a french ambassador went to spain to visit the king, what language would they speak? Latin? French? Spanish?

  • Which Hawaiian Island has the cheapest average house prices?

I realize that there are many islands in the Hawaiian chain and that house prices have been known to be expensive on the Hawaiian islands. I was just wondering if anyone knew which of these islands would have the cheapest average real estate price?

  • Can someone please translate this poem to Spanish?

I was wondering if anyone could possibly translate this to Mexican Spanish for me? I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

    If Only,

If only you knew how much I loved you,

It is bigger than the world, that is true,

If only you knew of my love,

It is purer than a morning dove,

If only I can find someway to say,

"I want to be with you always"

If only you knew the effect of your smile,

Waiting for it is every bit worthwhile,

If only words can truly explain what you mean to me,

Then they would say, "You make my heart more joyous than the sea."

  • Do driving schools offer stick shift lessons?

I have to rent a car when I go overseas in a couple of months and it will be heard finding an automatic. I personally don't have a manual and no one that I know does so I was wondering if driving schools even offer lessons in driving a stick shift. I wish I know someone that had a stick shift so I can practice on it but I don't and the only other option to learn I can think of is going to a driving school but I am not sure if they even offer lessons in that. I want opinions before I call.

  • Qustion about Acuvue Oasys?

This is the first time I am ever getting contacts so I went to the eye doctor and he recommended these which are nice because my brother has the same brand/type. However, my brother wears them for 14 days and night straight and only change pairs twice a month. I asked him about it and he said hes been doing it for 2 years and have had no problems with it. However I looked online and it should it should only be done for 6 days continuous wear. My question is, can I leave them in for 14 days/nights like my brother does? If you are only suppose to do it for 6 days, how come he hasn't had any problems. I am leaning towards taking them out at night before bed because I am so scared of an eye infection but am a little curious how come it doesn't effect my brother leaving them in for 14 days at all. Also, what do you do when you go out to a bar or something, come back at like 4am drunk, you aren't gonna want to take your contacts out, do you just sleep with them?

I am a male and need a new hair color. I am not sure if I should get highlights or dye it completely (not sure what guys usually do). I am also not sure what color I should dye it. My natural hair color is dark brown and my skin color is darker brown (maybe as brown as someone from mexico or texas).

  • crunches and my back?

As of recently I have been working out my abs by doing crunches about 10 minutes a day. However, what I am noticing is that after about 4 minutes of doing them my back starts to hurt. I usually just power through the pain but there is always something back in my head telling me that I am permanently hurting my back. Should I just continue to power through the back pain (muscle pain not bone pain)? or should I stop?

  • How long to hear something from Texas Tech University?

I applied to the Texas Tech MBA program and got the acceptance letter in February. Included was a sheet where I had to fill out to say if I will attend the school or not. I accepted their offer and sent in the sheet at the end of February. I haven't heard anything from the school since then. How long before they send information about living on campus, financial info, etc? I emailed them asking about a 2 week ago but haven't gotten an email back. Should I wait longer, do they usually send the info in the summer?

  • Hairstyle for a Professional?

I am going to be starting Graduate School next fall and soon after starting my job hunt and getting into the real working world. Because of this I decided to chop off my long hair, messy, college hair look. Does anyone have any recommendations on any hairstyles that would be suitable for the corporate world? Ones that would be suitable for job interviews, working in the office, etc. Also ones that are low maintenance (meaning no gel to style etc.). If anyone have any suggestions I would be most appreciative

  • Can a graduate student take undergraduate classes?

Next semester I will be going to graduate school and working towards my MBA. However, I am interested in the Japanese language (taken 2 semesters of it Junior year but couldn't senior year due to needing to graduate). Even though it is not part of the MBA requirement whatsoever, and most Japanese language classes I assume are undergraduate (at least the level that I am at), am I allowed to take those undergraduate classes even though it won't count towards my graduate credit. I figured I want to learn the language sometime in the future so might as well utilize the university's resources and just pay out of my pocket for the class.

  • Getting rid of this jet lag?

I flew home (NY) from Thailand last weekend and am now trying to cope with the jet lag. I have to try to get rid of it because I have classes all week. Last night I fell asleep at 8:30pm and woke up at 11pm. Then I force myself to sleep at 2am and naturally woke up at 7:30am (didn't have to wake up till 11am). Any suggestions on what I can do to ease out of this jet lag? I am falling asleep during lecture because of it. I heard taking a walk outside in the natural sunlight will help rewind the clock, but it is winter and it is cloudy and snowy everyday.

  • Job opportunities for Americans in Thailand?

I am almost finished with my undergraduate (Finance and International Business) at a university in New York and am planning on getting my MBA in California. After I receive my MBA I want to work in the United States for a few years (to get experience) and then move to Thailand to work (half-Thai so I can speak both Thai and English fluently). I was wondering, when finding a job after getting my MBA, what companies should I be looking at that give opportunities for people to work in Thailand.

  • Where is the laptop power port on Cathay Pacific's new economy seats? Macbook?

I am flying from JFK to Hong Kong this Saturday on Cathay Pacific (777-300ER) and I checked on Seat Guru that on the aircraft there was a power port for laptops. I was planning on bringing my mac book and was wondering where on the economy seat the power port was located because I want to make sure the power cord will reach (might not reach if its under the seat in front of me or something). Also, has anyone had any problems using a Macbook or Macbook Pro on airplanes?

  • Which airtrain to take at JFK?

I am arriving at JFK terminal 5 with JetBlue and leaving terminal 7 with Cathay Pacific. I am planning on taking the airtrain because it is free for inner terminal travel. I was researching it on the website and saw that there were two routes, one for inner terminal and one that connects with the New York Subway system. How do I know which one to take (because the last time I was at JFK (terminal 4) I was with my parents and just followed them but I remember there being two airtrains, one on the left one on the right, and remember my parents saying they didn't know which airtrain was for within airport and which one was connected to subway system because there were no signs to distinguish the two). Any suggestions? If there is no sign to distinguish which one is which, how do i know which one to take, I have a tight connection and can't afford to end up in NYC with my luggage lol.

  • My friend asked me this question and I couldn't answer him?

My buddy told me that the other day he had sex for the first time in his life with a girl that we knew. He said that while they were having sex, the girl came first and he couldn't (because he was really drunk) and then she fell asleep. He asked me if he was still a virgin because even though he had intercourse, he never ejaculated. I didn't know what to tell him. Any ideas?

  • What gift should I buy?

I'm from the US and plan on visiting Japan and staying with a host family (wife, husband, 16 year old daughter) and I want to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what I should buy as a gift for them from the states. Something they might want from US that they don't have in Japan? Lets say $50 as the limit for all 3 of them.

  • Good decently priced MBA Schools?

I am from NY and I am looking for an MBA school out of state. I am looking for a decent school that is decently priced below $20,000 (out-of-state tuition) and with a GMAT score requirement between 600-640. My main concentration will be Finance. If you have any suggestions of some schools, please post some and I'll give best answer.

  • Where in the airport should I sleep?

So here is the situation. I am flying into Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport with Cathay Pacific at 11:55pm. I have to connect to a Thai Airways domestic flight but the next available flight is at 7:45am the next morning. I am too cheap to find a hotel (poor college student) and I think it will be a waste for sleeping only for 5-6 hours. I have never had to sleep in an airport before so here are the questions.

Where exactly should I sleep? I have to pick up my luggage because I have to change airlines and I heard there was a place to drop off your luggage so if any one knows of a good place to sleep at this airport it would be great. If you could be sorta specific as to which level or which hall (arrival/departure) etc.

  • Dropping off my Luggage?

I found out today I have to spend the night at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport because my flight gets in at 11:55pm and the next domestic flight is in the morning. If I decide to tough it out in the airport, is there a place where I can drop off my duffel and pick it up in the morning while I sleep in the seats? or do I have to keep it with me and hope no one steals it. Or do you think a hotel is a better idea, the hotel near the airport is very expensive and the flight leaves at 7am the next morning so a hotel would be a waste in my opinion because I would stay for 5 hours tops. Suggestions?

  • So Thai Airways screwed me over, any other suggestions?

I called them today and they happen to decide to cancel the JFK - Bangkok flight as of July. Lucky for me, I had already bought the ticket and paid for it for a trip this winter so they are supposedly refunding my money. Does anyone know how long that will take? Anyone have any suggestions on Airlines with good prices I can take from JFK to Bangkok? I checked Singapore Airlines because they have a similar route but it says the tickets are sold out. I was thinking Japan Airlines. Suggestions? Comments?
