Only mature women who have had children please answer! Question about losing your mucous plug.?

ok i have had two children and whith my first on i did loose the mucous plug in the shower it looks like basically a big glob of snot i did feel it it felt like well to me it felt like i started my period it got really wet down there and when i checked there it was its kinda feels like when you blow your nose but out the other end and yes it is possible to loose it and not be certain with my second child i did not know i lost it i went to the doctor and he had told me i lost it then the next day i had the baby hope this helps

When i was beginning labor i lost my plug. It was redish brown and had a slimey texture. It was pretty large too, id say the size of a couple of fingers put together. I couldnt feel it at all though, i went to the bathroom and wiped after peeing and there it was, almost as if i was on a heavy period for one wipe only (lol). My daughter was born 2 days later. You can loose your plug up to a week before going into labor but you should definatly see a doctor about it. You could go to bed and go in the morning because labor takes a long time anyways.

Well i lost mine more than once because of preterm labor and it was always snotty like and stringy with a red streak going through it. I felt something wet in my underware the first time and looked and sure enough it was there and my Dr confirmed it was the plug but since I didn't give birth for another 4 wks it grew back because i had the same thing happen again about 24 hrs before i gave birth. This time around at 21 wks I noticed i lost some of it.

It is definitely possible to lose it and not be sure. With two normal pregnancies and deliveries I never saw a discrete recognizable plug. It helps you know you're starting to dilate when you see it, but if not you could still go into labor anytime. Of couse always ask your doctor with any concerning discharge or other symptoms.

Mine came away when I went to the toilet. Like a jelly kind of substance pink and a bit brown, then kept coming away for a few day just lightly. Had to wear a liner. About a week prior to bub being born. Good luck.

I never knew my mucous plug fell out, nor did I feel something weird in my body to suggest that it passed. One day, I went to the doctor and he told me that I lost my mucous plug. Every woman is different.

I lost my little by little. It was like thick mucousy stringy junk. It looked gross. I did not get to finish lossing mine. But it only came little at a time. It only happened when I wiped.

I was induced, my doctor pulled mine out and broke my water, so I lost mine all at once. Like a ball of snot I guess, jellyish.

i lost mine while washing myself down there in the shower. it fell straight in the palm of my hand. it was kind of like the size of a half dollar and it looked like a big snot. kind of like an oyster or clam. it was brownish and was tinged with blood. it felt gooey sort of like egg whites.
