31 weeks pregnant and wondering?

Well if the dr. said your baby was developing fast that's a good sign if it is to be born earlier than 40 wks, that means the baby's lungs/organs are probably more developed too. My sister in law b/c of a liver problem had to be induced at the beginning of 36 weeks, they thought the baby would have to stay at the hospital for at least a week or longer but was well developed and healthy so they were able to come home together in just 2 days. If your baby is the same, hopefully you'll be able to take them home, if it's any earlier than 36 weeks and depending on your baby's developement they might have to stay in the hospital for monitoring, it's always different time amounts depending on the baby. Just hope the baby naturally comes after 36 weeks, but remember the dr is watching you and your baby so they can either plan an early induced labor/ c section or give you medicine to put off labor if they think your baby isn't ready.

What???? Your doctor isn't God and they should stop thinking that they are. Only God knows. And these size things a lot of times are wrong. Size of the baby depends on size of parents, not a chart. Anyway, you are in a good time if the baby comes anytime. They stay in the NICU until 36 weeks providing there are no complications. They have success down to 24 weeks, but I just read someone's answer a few days ago that had one at 22 weeks. Everything is developed at your stage, but if the baby comes now will look funny. Don't panic. A lot of times they don't tell you that, but it is perfectly normal.

Any time within 2 weeks of your projected due date is considered safe. You should really be asking your doctor what is safe, what to expect if you do have the baby early, and anything else you might want to know. Your doctor is the best source and will be able to answer your questions with your chart on hand. This is why OBs are there, best of luck and congrats on the baby!

generally 37 weeks is considered term...but babies still go to the nicu that are 37 weeks sometimes....if your baby comes before then they will probably give you the option to do an amniocentesis to deterimine how developed the lungs are...which is usually the only reason your baby would have to be in the nicu at 31 weeks....dont worry too much...your baby will be just fine!!!

37 weeks is generally the safe zone. 36 weeks is possible, but really still could have some breathing difficulty. If your doc anticipates the baby being premature they can give you a steroid shot to help the baby's lungs mature faster. Maybe you should ask about that.

34 to 36 weeks. You ob cannot predict from late measurements btw. They can guess but it really doesn't mean anything unless they plan on inducing you. You might just have a really big baby.

of course no longer. you won't be able to push no longer undemanding sufficient to wreck him because of the fact he's swimming in various fluid. We did that, too. at some point replaced into nerve-wrecking because of the fact I wore a pair of pants that have been too tight on the waistline. toddler kicked all day at that waistline. My husband used to purpose our daughter, poking my abdomen over here, then over there, etc. anyplace he poked, Kimberly could elbow, kick, despite the fact that. She never enable him smash out with it. One time, he poked up severe via my breastbone, and she or he kicked together with her foot. He did that back a pair of situations.
