That is funny--but the short answer is YES.
The government needs revenue---it has to get it from somewhere.
I heard that hybrids were causing some local communities in California to lose out on Gasoline taxes--so they want to raise the registration fees on hybrids.

they would have too!!! look at the road use taxes they would not be getting because the tax is attached to fuel sales.

Yash, your answer makes a lot of sense. I can tell you put a bunch of thought into that one. You're right though, if it wasn;t for those dirty republicans we would have no taxes at all. (Kidding on that by the way if you didnt catch on)

Well Bechtel, the private USA corporation, through its subsidiary in Bolivia, tried to tell the Bolivians they had to pay them for the rain that fell from the sky.
Its business that tries to appropriate more and more of our natural world then get us to pay for it.
