You have the opportunity to watch any player from the 50's or 60's...who is it and why???

I am wondering who you would want to see play the great game of Baseball again, and why you would want to see that person...I will even let you pick the match-up. Example, my father always talked of the match-up he saw the night before going to Vietnam...Koufax vs. Marichal. I would love to see that again!

    Hitting: Williams, Musial, Aaron.

Fielding: Ashburn, Clemente, Mazeroski, Mays. (Or, for amusement value, Dick "Dr. Strangeglove" Stuart.)

    Pitching: Koufax, Gibson, Spahn.

In general: any of the Robinsons -- Jackie, Frank, Brooks.

Matchup: Williams v. Koufax would be good.

How about a matchup that I don't believe ever occured: Koufax vs. Ted Williams. Koufax never made an All Star game until '61, the year after Williams retired. Their careers overlapped by 5 years, but neither was in his prime. This would be a great lefty on lefty matchup, two of the best of all time!

I'd like to see Bobby Thompson bat against Ralph Branca in the bottom of the ninth October 3, 1951 at the Polo Grounds for the National League pennant.

I would love to see Ted Williams bat against Nolan Ryan. The Splendid Splinter was probably the purest hitter ever to don a baseball uniform and the last to hit .400. Nolan Ryan was the best pitcher my generation has seen. It would be a terrific matchup.

I would love to see Stan Musial. I love base stealing and would love to have seen him play the year he set the record for most stolen bases in a season.

Willie Mays. Best all around player ever. Had all the tools. I'm fortunate to have seen him play..............Mays against Bob Gibson. Classic.

How could it be anyone else but the Yankees.. The great bambino, Lou Gherig, Yogi Berra, Dimaggio, and Mattingly are some of the best ever.
