Why do I trip over things more in daytime than at night?
I'm always falling over pieces of furniture, stubbing my toes, etc., in broad daylight; yet when I walk around my house in pitch blackness, I almost never trip over anything, no matter how fast I walk (I don't mean that I rush around during the day and inch my way forward at night, I walk at the same rate both times). Why do I suddenly seem more dexterous at night when I can't even see?

it's simply due to the fact that in the dark you tread carefully whereas in the day you take it for granted that you don't need to be careful and therefore trip over stuff
