To keep dandruff away, take a tablespoon of lemon juice with 2 tablespoon of coconut oil, massage it well on scalp and hair regularly.Wash your hair with warm water. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/

Dandruff is caused by a fungus. The only real thing that will cure it is Nizoral. Its a antifungal shampoo that is made for dandruff. It's what a doctor would prescribe, but you can buy it over the counter at walmart. Head and shoulders and other dandruff shampoos only control the symptoms. Nizoral cost more than the others, but it is a real medication targeting the real cause.

Here are some things to try:

Change your shampoo - Sauve is surprisingly good and gentle. Use only a portion about the size of a quarter and rinse for twice as long as you have been.

Reduce the amount and frequency of your creme rinse - Use creme rinse only every second day and use only a portion the size of a dime. Rinse for twice as long as you have been.

Wash or replace all your combs and brushes.

Stop using hair spray for a couple of weeks.

Dry flakes are usually the result of build up of hair products. If you alternate your shampoo and cut back on other products you'll save money and your hair will be healthier.

Some people think they have dandruff when it is actually just dried shampoo that wasn't rinsed out completely.

Try rinsing better, especially around the hairline.

Then, if it does turn out to be really dandruff, use a tar based shampoo to clear it up.
