a drug is a drug, right? anything which alters your natural state is defiling your body-temple, regardless of the source, societal restrictions, stigmas, and/or condoning

The Bible is not against the use of drugs. It is against the abuse of drugs.
If I were to carry your logics over to the area of food, are you suggesting that since people can damage their bodies by overeating or eating the wrong foods, that we should stop eating ANY food?

from where did you get "anything which alters your natural state is defiling your body-temple, regardless of the source" ? Drugs are drugs all right but there is a big difference between using and missusing a drug.

No. Most drugs are made from natural substances like plants which God provided to heal our bodies. Look up various herbs for their medicinal benefits. God knew what he was doing when he created the earth. Man has just put many of these herbs in pill form with controlled doses instead of us guessing at dosages - maybe not as effective but can be a blessing when sick.

i don't believe so, for some people have deficiencies like diabetics who need insulin or some suffer from depression due to a chemical in-balance in their brain, for these people the pharmaceutical company's are the difference between life and death, of course their will always be those who abuse this system, in the bible the apostle Paul encouraged timothy to take a little wine for his upset stomach and other illnesses , wine had many uses but in this case it was used for a medicine, we all want a measure of good health and some rely on pharmaceutical companys to provide this basic desire , when used in the proper context for the right reasons i see nothing wrong with it and i serve Jehovah the most high God

Revelation 18:23 says by their sorceries were all the nations deceived. The word sorceries comes from the Greek word, Pharma, a drugest, poison. I believe in todays world when one is given a perscription, that they better study up on the drug given before taking it. Many need certian drugs and hopefully they take them only when needed, but one that just takes a pill for a high to alter their state of mind is deceiving themselves.

Drugs are derived from plants. Soloman's garden was simply the local drug store. The plants were used for medicinal purposes. So I doubt that taking drugs for medicinal reasons, would be a sin.
It does make sense that taking drugs simply to altar ones state, would be a sin against the body.

and where did the ingredients for the perscription come from? when you go to the source of it, God's creation.
I don't like doctors that are quick to prescribe, but used in moderation should be ok.
The medicine is designed to create a chemical change in your body. You take it when you are sick to change and get better.
So when poeple take non-perscriptions drugs, I say, "What's wrong with you? Drugs make sick people well, so there must be something wrong with you to take drugs."

Taking prescription drugs is not a sin but some drugs certainly could be a mistake if it harms one in any way!!

Of course not. Luke was a physician. God gave the plants that provide healing if properly used--if man abuses them, then they can be poison. God also gave man the ability to learn, observe the world and come to conclusions based on that observation. Welcome to medical research.
Anything can be harmful if wrongly used, even food, sleep or play. But then you knew that when you asked the question.

That would be like saying eating healthy is a sin. Cranberry juice is good for keep your urinary tract healthy. Whole grains are good for reducing cholesterol and controlling diabetes. There's nothing wrong with using the things that God created to keep or make us healthy. Modern medicine is just another way of doing that.
