Why don't scones made with self-raising flour rise properly?
I make them with self-raising flour, and follow recipes by experts. I see them on Youtube and they rise nicely. Mine just don't. Is it because we're having a heatwave?

I read on Y!A News that some people wear their jeans 10 to 15 times without a wash!

I was reading Tim Conway's autobiography and he mentions going to "an exempted school" in Chagrin Falls, OH. I asked Google and came up empty. What are these schools "exempted" from?

6 AnswersReligión y espiritualidad4 years agoWhy is there no longer a "Delete Question" option on YA!?
I asked a question and got one useless answer. Instead of submitting to a vote (and I can't find an option for that anymore, either) I wanted to delete the question but the option seems to have disappeared. Where is it?

I haven't changed any of my YA settings, so that can't be it.
3 AnswersYahoo Answers4 years agoChristians, how do we "share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ"?
2 Cor 1:5 "For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too."
How does this play out in the Christian's day to day life?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoWhy do alpha waves annoy me?
I have trouble relaxing to go to sleep and people have recommended music with binaural beats and alpha waves to help that. However I find it makes me more agitated. Anyone know why?
1 AnswerMental Health4 years agoIs there a difference between sympathy and compassion, or are they the same?
If a person is really obnoxious, and someone feels bad that they're obviously not a happy person inside, and need to project that on others--would you call that feeling sympathy for them, or having compassion on them?
3 AnswersPsychology5 years agoYoutube users: what does it mean when you make a comment and someone "replies" with just your screen name?
I've posted (nice) remarks on some Youtube videos and sometimes another user will post a "reply" that just says Anna.
Do they mean they liked my post, or what?
1 AnswerYouTube5 years agoNon-Catholic Christians: How often does your denomination take communion?
I was surprised when an American Christian friend told me her denomination takes communion only once a year. I quote from her email: "Baptists, Lutherans and Methodists take communion once a year at Easter." Is this correct, or is it just in her area? Where I live in Europe it is at least once a month, in some churches every Sunday.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoAmerican "all purpose" flour vs. European "strong" flour: which is better for cinnamon rolls?
I grew up in the US and we used all purpose flour for everything. Now I live in S. Europe and I find the cake flour sold here produces cakes that are rather dry. I want to make cinnamon rolls; should I try using "strong" flour, since they contain yeast?

1 AnswerAbuse and Spam5 years agoIs it true that men prefer to sleep on the side of the bed nearest the door?
There's a "study" that says this...that when a man shares a bed he prefers the side nearest the door. Is there any truth in this?
BQ: What side do you tend to sleep turned toward, your left or your right?
BQ2: Would you change to accomodate your partner's preference? I mean, if they insisted on sleeping on "your side of the bed" would you change over for them?
