I'm sick, I'm tired, why don't I just...?
quit Yahoo Answers? I came on here to make new friends and meet new people, and have failed miserably at both. What keeps you coming here? Those with whom I have communicated, thanks in advance for all the memories! I won't forget you!
Geez! I go for lunch after asking this question, and upon returning have so many answers I need to hire a secretary to help!
Thanks, but if I simply want answers, I've got textbooks galore and all sorts of friends with TONS of expertise; I'm not desperate. I also have 2 MySpaces, thank you, but enjoy communicating with some people on here, as well. Nothing more, nothing less. I'll live without this site, believe me! I just hate the way it has turned out.
BTW, I have a thick skin, so won't get too mad at some of the answers, but not everyone is as desensitized as I am. You might be a little kinder towards others with some of your answers, because it is that kind of commentary directed towards a few of my friends that caused them to quit YA.
If I quit, it'll be because I want to do so, and though I appreciate the number of good wishes I have received since I wrote this question, I will still make up my mind myself.
Sayonara - unless I change my mind!

Well, friend, it takes a question by you to get me back on here after hiding in the wings for say....more than a year, I think it is.
How long have we been friends - twenty-five, thirty years? I'm sure you know that all this question of yours does is upset me for very obvious reasons. You were the one who got me on here (not your fault I drifted away), and to have you walk away all bent out of shape sort of surprises me.
I know you've been busy on your computer saving the world from illiteracy ;-), so just mellow out and take a break from this infernal machine, (and these idiots who populate cyberspace) and you'll most likely get over being miffed in much less time than I.
If I wasn't half way across the country, you know I'd come to Nevada and kick your ever-lovin' butt for threatening to quit this, because you're too good at answering these silly things to just give them up. So what if it is a popularity contest? (Remember you telling me this?) So what if your answers are better than some of what is determined to be the "Best"? (Remember me telling YOU this?) Yahoo Answers is just like life, Kesokram, and though I know you are used to winning at life, sometimes you must simply accept the fact that not everyone is on the same (advanced) page in life that you are.
Anyway, you can remember that you make more money than most of these creeps (sorry, but many of you are, with some exceptions), and will be remembered long after many of them are nothing but moldy skeletons. Hang in there, take a while off here, and let things take care of themselves, because they will again like they always do when it comes to you.
Sorry for answering this publicly like this, old friend, but you had it coming. You're better than this, and you know it!

I’m not sick and tired of Y/A yet.
I’m still having a lot of fun being in here. The only problem I find that annoys me is all the deleted questions that seem to multiply like rabbits.
I come in here for several reasons…if I have a problem, usually having to do with technical stuff, I can ask around and some nice geek will provide me with an answer that will help me. Just knowing that somebody is willing to spend time to share their knowledge, with me, a complete stranger, is constantly renewing my faith in humanity.
Then, of course, I try to help others, which is a great feeling, especially when I get a personal e-mail from somebody I helped. Along the way, I learn a lot just answering questions. Even things I already know, it never hurts to review them from time to time. I also come in here to laugh by reading some good jokes or answering some funny P&S. Sometimes, my own answer cracks me up!
And of course, I come in here to write. English is my second language and it’s a good exercise for me. Plus nobody is interrupting me or telling me I talk too much!
Bottom line, the people around here, the ones asking and answering questions (not the ones deleting them!) are a pretty good bunch. They are some exceptions but I just ignore them.
I don’t know you Kesokram but be certain that I will miss you if you leave.
Edit: I have 5 Contacts and you're one of them...you're 20% of my Contacts, all by yourself! So...should I delete you? Will it hurt?

I am a very shy person and have few people I can talk to. My husband is gone at work 14 hours a day 7 days a week and I get very lonely. At least here it is kind of a captive audience!! Also, there are a lot of times I need reassurance about things I do with my child and the ladies on here (and sometimes the men) are mostly very nice

I'm pretty sure this place isn't for "making friends". The purpose of Answers is to help out random people with knowledge that you have, or to just offer advice based on your own opinions and beliefs. Thats what keeps me coming back. I love going to my email and seeing that someone picked my answer as the best one. I get a good feeling knowing that I helped someone out. If you want to meet new people you should go on myspace or a chat room. You shouldn't expect so much back from people on here. Because for a lot of people, including myself, its just another awesome way to pass the time at work! Have more fun with it... Don't quit.

I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune, and I hope you feel better soon. I will tell you something I always think of when thinking of my friends.
"In life we all become too busy at times even to tend to ourselves. I know who my friends are and that they are busy in their own lives. When I'm meant to see them, talk to them or something then it will happen. They have a life too, and thinking about them and wishing them well is the best thing I can do until I see them.
My close friends are very dear to me, and it could days, weeks, or months, even years before i talk to them but they are still there in my heart and my thoughts.
It's easy to be a good friend but the hard part is being a great friend.
I hope you feel better soon
What keeps me coming back is the diverse nature of the questions and answers you see on Y!A. There are alot of great minds out there and plenty to learn from others who may know more about something you don't.

I think the beauty of a site like this is that we make it fit the needs we have at the time. You know that I had a pretty rough go in September. I didn't post that I was leaving..... for I know to never say never. I know myself well enough to know that when the time is right....... I'll be back. So I worked through the things that were troubling me, and found myself much more engaged in life than in the virtual world. I am a realist..... through and through. Still nothing will beat the real world.
Yet, as my history on Y!A will tell you, I keep returning to Y!A in spurts. Not because I "need" answers. Oh sure....... you as well as anyone know that I need to write. I ... like you..... see a question and I go to town writing everything that can possibly flow from my head. Is it chosen best answer? Gosh no....... most of the time not. But I wasn't going for points or recognition. I was going for the release of my thoughts. It's down on paper.... uhm.... uh....... monitor? lol Well it's down! And my words will stick. If not with the person that asked the question........ at least with me. I'm not asking for more than that. yet...... a crazy thing happens along the way....... friendships.
People read our answers and find that perhaps there are others that think as they do....... feel as they do......... go through life as they do. But it is a 'connection' that is and will remain virtual if we just talk through a venue such as this........ and how "real" can that be? Ok very........ depending on the parties involved. But it's not easy to bring your real life into a venue like this when your sole purpose is to use it as a release from every day life!!
We all have our reasons for being here. Whether to escape...... to laugh..... to write........ to think...... to establish friendships........ we need to respect each other's purpose. No one should feel guilty for how they do or do not use this site. It is the people's site. Given to us by yahoo to use as we need. No requirements imposed. Be yourself....... do it for yourself........ decide WHY you do it....... if YA can no longer fulfill that need, youmight decide to leave. But if there is still something that clicks for you...... there's no need to burn bridges and say bye bye.
This is a door that should be open at all times....... one that can freely be entered and exited as need be. Look at me! I came back ........ I'm still trying to find my sea legs again........ not sure I'll ever take off like I once did.... but I'm having fun in my own way. I so pray you can find a way to have fun in yours.
Good luck with your decision!

Because YA is just like crack. Ha ha. Nah, I haven't been on here in months but I figured it's been a while since I've had a drunken YA adventure! How many people am I gonna piss off come tomorrow?

Don't quit look how good you are doing I mean nice job answering questions and gaining points! Look at your percentage of Best Answers! If i was you, I wouldn't quit, it's okay if you don't get any friends, add other people to your contacts list and maybe they will do the same. Don't give up but it's up to you. Good luck!!

It's the cheapest game in town man! I hang around for the fun. What did you expect? That people would just fall out of your monitor and into your life beyond the boundaries of the Virtual World. Maybe you oughta ease up on the serious attitude and just roll with it...

I come here because I like answering questions and learning from the content that is online here. Don't give up. Maybe visit some different categories and see what you'll find.
