Leopard Gecko food?

I found a good deal on a local classified that is full of lizard accessorie but it also includes; All by HBH, hermit crabs variety bites, crab & lobster bites and hermit crab cookies. Are these healthy if fed to my nephews leopard gecko?

Update:

nice info jo. my nephew has been taking care of the gecko for a few days now, all he feeds it is crickets so I will put in the effort to vary its diet. The setup could be better also, no light but has a substrate with deco.

Don't feed them that it's not made for them, it's made for aquatic creatures and since the gecko is from the Afganistan area that isn't aquatic. In order to change the diet up a little, I would give wax worms, super worms, meal worms, butter worms, the beetles that meal worms turn into, if an adult they can even get a small pinkie mouse. I've never seen my niece eat veggies or fruit so he might not eat them. Hope that helps.

well, here's some tips to feed a gecko...

these includes what food are safe for them to eat.. THESE ARE THE HEALTHIEST FOOD YOU CAN GIVE THEM.. and also the solution on how to give them..

    Things You’ll Need:

    Live crickets

    Vegetables

    Grain meal

    Dried dog food

    Fish flakes

    Commercial gut load

    Orange

    Calcium dusting supplement

    Commercial dusting kit

    Cup

    Live mealworms

    Shallow container

    Live wax worms

    Fresh water

    Vitamin/mineral supplement

    Prepare Crickets

    Step1

Gut load crickets at least a day before your gecko feeds. This supplies the insects with added nutrition.

    Step2

Place vegetables, grain meal (such as oatmeal or wheat germ), dried dog food, fish flakes or commercial insect gut load in the container housing the insects.

    Step3

Add a slice of orange for water content.

    Step4

Remove the number of crickets needed before you feed your lizard.

    Step5

Dust the crickets with a commercial dusting supplement containing calcium. Do this every other feeding day.

    Step6

Use a commercial dusting kit or place the supplement in a cup with several crickets.

    Step7

Shake the cup to cover the crickets with dust.

    Feeding Geckos Crickets

    Step1

Feed your gecko 3 to 4 crickets at night--they're nocturnal creatures.

    Step2

Allow 5 to 20 minute feeding times twice daily for geckos under seven months, 3 to 4 times weekly for older lizards.

    Step3

    Remove uneaten crickets.

Feeding Geckos Meal and Wax Worms

    Step1

Give your gecko live mealworms once weekly. Choose the size of worm according to the size of your lizard.

    Step2

Place 2 to 3 worms in a shallow bowl or suitable container. Ensure the sides are high enough so the worms won't crawl out and large enough for the gecko to access.

    Step3

    Remove the container and clean.

    Step4

Feed wax worms the same way, repeating Steps 1 to 3.

I rotate crickets and mealworms..silkworms for a treat when I can afford it. Dust them about every 3 or 4 days with calcium dust. Also, dont feed them with sand in the tank. You dont want impact from not digesting the sand. It clogs them up and then they cant poop. If you got sand, just feed them in a box or something separate, then you get to handle them too!! If you buy the crickets in bulk..it's alot cheaper. Just keep them in a large rubbermaid container. Make sure that the food is not larger than the gecko's head.

. Leopard geckos eat only insects crickets, meal worms, wax worms, silkworms, tomato horn worms etc... you dust with calcium powder first then feed to the gecko.

Asbsolutely not--most likely the gecko will not even glance at them, let alone eat them. Leopard geckos eat only live insects.
